As you probably noticed, the round hasn't ended yet. My computer esploded, and since I will (hopefully) be picking my new computer up some time today...

I am extending this round until the 31st of October. The following round will be adjusted to reflect this, and will now run from the 10th-30th of each month. So if you weren't able to get your ( Read more... )

Sorry again about your computer! I'd be interested in helping out as a mod, but I would like to know in advance what it would entail (I have some previous experience modding at whedonland when I was a member there).

Basically, we have been going about it as a rotation of rounds. Each round is run by one of the mods while we all help with moderating the queue (accepting new submissions), checking that everyone has posting access (I usually go through every round and make sure that literally everyone is given posting access...kinda borked that this time), you handle sign ups, posting the themes, posting the voting for the round, and then tallying and posting the results post.

We have banner makers in the user info who have volunteered for that, so usually there isn't much to do there. Voting is the most time consuming. I usually code the post as the submissions come in (I have a comm I set up just for testing out mod stuff), and it makes things a bit less hectic at the end. This month with everything and then my computer it hasn't happened. haha.

Did you have any questions or anything? I am a bit mental at the moment (still haven't gotten the computer in my hands), so let me know if I didn't touch on what you were curious about. haha.

That seems pretty straight forward! I was just curious as to whether each mod had one specific duty or whether you rotated. I see that vaguelyclear has volunteered her services as well so if you only need one extra mod I can be a banner maker instead.

Thank you!! I thought this would have to be the first round where I wouldn't be able to submit, but... the 31st is brilliant :D <3

YAY! Glad to hear read you've sorted out your computer issues :D

I'd be interested in being a mod. I used to run graphics-related challenges over at hogwarts_elite, so it wouldn't be new to me.

Ahhhh H_E. The good ole days. haha.

We'd love to have ya on. It's not that difficult (other than coding voting posts which is mostly just annoying). The more the merrier, really. ;)

Do you have any questions or anything?

You were a member? I don't remember seeing your name; we must have missed each other.

LOL, I'm so very used to coding annoying voting posts, so that's no biggie. I also read your comment above outlining the mod's job, and it all sounds pretty straightforward. Though, with the banner makers - do we just ask who, of the banner makers, is available to make them, or is it on rotation basis (like the rounds)?
