Stars, the indie pop band from Canada, are completely splendid. Perhaps their best song has to be a draw between Your Ex Lover Is Dead and Elevator Love Letter. Even if they hadn't created those ecstatic tracks, they still would've had plenty of other good songs.
Their first album, Nightsongs was alright, but not exactly the best. I suppose the band got their better tunes when Amy Millan (vocals) officially joined the band, and then further producing Heart. Nightsongs features a cover of This Charming Man originally by The Smiths. However, the members of Stars actually create a good tune with it and their version of the song is actually quite catchy.
Set Yourself on Fire, which is the third album of Stars, was pretty good. There weren't any songs that you would call "bad," just at least one or two songs which wasn't as good as the rest and seemed to stick out because of that. The album was great, actually.
Do You Trust Your Friends is going to be a recreated album of Set Yourself On Fire; all of the songs will be remixed by fellow Arts & Crafts bands and friends of Stars. I think it'll be interesting to hear the remix of Your Ex Lover is Dead. The Most Serene Republic are going to recreate Ageless Beauty, and since they are capable of making good music, their version of the song might actually be pretty good. The album is to be coming out on May 22, according to the Arts&Crafts website.
