Should we be sympathetic to that guy who killed those girls?

I'm talking about the 17 year old son of Rwandan migrants who stabbed three white girls to death in the UK, and wounded many others with the same knife.
Now I like to think I'm a sympathetic dude. And let's face it, Axel Rudakubana had some reasons to be disgruntled. Objectively speaking, tropical Rwanda should be a much nicer place to live than rainy and cold England.
I'm sure he hasn't had an easy life. Probably mental illness, with ever worsening alienation.
Mental illness is not a good excuse, but I don't hate him (I hate the fact that for over a quarter century my Windows PCs have never worked even remotely right. That is REAL evil).
Those who were trying to protest in the UK, amid a high-level media cover-up and deep censorship operation, also don't really hate him. If they did they would have been gathering at the courthouse or prison where he is being held.
They hate something vastly more evil than him. Almost too evil to be able to think about in full. It's like comparing Greedo to Darth Vader.
They hate the incomprehensible (at best) system responsible for everything they disagree with.
