[Buffy is sitting at the island in her kitchen. There are an assortment of breads scattered around the top of the island. Buffy is sitting with her chin propped up in one hand, a pout on her face.]

My kingdom for a yogurt or...grapefruit. I like grapefruit. I wonder if the City would be sympathetic if I told them I'd just started a low carbs diet.

buffy is cursed

Careful Ms. Summers, someone may find a way to take your kingdom.

Considering my kingdom consists of a pretty fantastic shoe collection and a handful of sharp and shinys that most people wouldn't know what to do with, I think I'm okay with that in exchange for food that's not bread.

You forget that kingdoms also have people, loved ones that humans hold so dear. Would you trade them for a grapefruit?

Weeeell...Dawn is currently blasting Christmas music through the house at ear splitting decibels...

[Dramatic sigh][And entirely appropriate pout.]

Is Dawn someone you hold dear?

She's my little sister. You might have seen her at the warehouse. Tall, brunette, pretty.

Ahh yes. She's rather loud, isn't she?

Well...sort of? I mean she talks a lot but I'm fairly sure she got the ability to give good ramble from me so I can't really say anything against it or hypocritical and that looks good on no one.

You hardly say as much as you think you do. But you did not answer my question.

I don't? Because it's generally an agreed upon fact that I ramble too much. Lots of words. Whole walls of words. You know if words stacked up and made walls.

I didn't? [She is...actually aware of that. Dumb blonde is just her default setting.]

As far as the rambling I've witnessed thus far in this City, let alone the one you call Dawn, you barely speak a word.

No, you did not. Which is interesting in and of itself.

Oooh maybe I'm entering a taciturn and mystery phase of my life. I'll have to dye my hair brunette, start wearing black and--okay no, that's just taking it Goth.

She can be loud. She'll kill me if I say that though.

Power. Give me a decent wall of words about power.

It's not always what people think it is and it's not always where people think it is. It's something you give yourself permission to more then something other people give you. It corrupts absolutely or so people say and sometimes I think that's true. It's not about who has more power it's about what you do with it. It's something people usually underestimate or maybe that's just in my experience because apparently little, blonde and cheerleader isn't a recipe for power in most people's opinon. People that have it usually think that it can't be taken away. I'm still on the shoulder about whether I believe that or not. I think in some ways it can be but if you've really got power, no one can take it from you. Sometimes power is about giving up and sometimes it's about taking a stand. Sometimes it's just about accepting. The more you share it the scarier it is. In fact I'm pretty sure it's the hoarders that end up absolutely corrupted. In the end the people you ought to be afraid of are the ones that fought for their power and know how ( ... )

[It was absolutely a test. And Jericho listens intently to every word, knowing that every word and what is in between every word is all of equal importance to knowing more about what and who she is.]

Your score is adequate. And yes, that was most definitely a wall of words, as you put it.

I wonder, did you fight for your power or was it handed to you?

Adequate? And here I was hoping for a shiny gold star.

[She ponders that a moment.]

A little of both. Given but then fought for more and...yeah both works.
