[The video clicks on to Buffy lying on the couch with a blanket pulled up to her chin. She's got her arms wrapped a stuffed pig that's not Mr. Gordo but a close enough replica. Her eyes and nose are red. She looks absolutely miserable. On the coffee table in front of her, there is an assortment of kleenex, cough drops, cough medicine, aspirin, ( Read more... )

You're sick too? Everyone seems to be getting sick today. Not me though -- yet. Ohmigod I totally just jinxed myself.

Yes [Note that this is said in much the tone of a sulky three year old]

There's hand sanitizer over there. You should probably bathe in it.

I just washed my hands. So what do you need? Orange juice?

Half OJ, half grapefruit juice. Like Mom used to make? Please.

Half OJ, half grapefruit juice coming right up. This has to be a curse, right?

I hope so. Curse stuff will be over by midnight. [Miserable thy name is Buffy]

[Dawn walks into her room a few minutes later. She holds out a glass of juice to Buffy.]

Maybe you should take a few days off from the arena to get better.

[Buffy nods sulkily and takes the juice. She takes a long sip of it before placing it on the coffee table] I'm not scheduled to fight for a couple of days anyway but I think I'll lay off training too.

Still training? [That surprises her, and might give her a little bit of hope too.] Really? What for?

At first they were but when the arena figured out I was pretty good with those no matter what, they upped the odds. No one wants to bet on a sure thing because the odds get eeny and then the bets don't make money.

Oh. Do the Deities run the arena?

I don't think so? At least I've never seen that they run it.

A lady in a suit. She's nice enough. Everyone calls her Ma'am. I don't know if she has a name but she's not a deity or any sort of vampire that I can tell.

[ooc: As far as I can tell the arena is run by an NPC. It used to be run by a player with a female character]
