This afternoon, Mark Hoffman overpowered my inmate, Amanda Young, and injected her with narcotics, presumably heroin. Details forthcoming. I have yet to talk to Amanda, given her current state of health. It should be noted, however, that my inmate has a history of drug use, and has been clean and sober for three years.
Upon admitting her to the infirmary, and poorly judging my own state of mind at the time, I went to level four with the intention of taking Mark Hoffman into custody. In retrospect, I should have allowed another warden to handle it.
I assaulted him, striking him several times in the face and torso, and bit him when he attempted to restrain me. Hoffman didn't attempt to fight back save in self-defense. He struck me one time. I didn't stop my attack until he was unconscious and Luke Cage intervened.
I would like to express my...horror and deepest regrets in light of what I did. I will willingly accept whatever punishment my colleagues see fit. At the moment, I am in the infirmary with Amanda; once I've seen that she's in good hands and stable condition, I'll confine myself to my room until a decision has been made.
