Every time I don't want to be a US citizen I go and spend a day at a consulate of some foreign country trying to obtain a visa, and then cry about the fact that I'm not a citizen.
Long story short:
Over 95 blocks of walking
+
Two heart attacks
+
1 ulcer
+
6 new outfits (shopping relieves stress)
+
1 new pair of shoes
=
got that damn French visa.
So I get to go to Paris...YAY!!!!!!!!!! I leave on Thursday (same day Dave goes to San Diego.. A whale's vagina)
Awesome moment in NY today:
Walk out of Armani dressing room in hot little strapless dress and walk by 3 guys waiting for their wives/girlfriends. Their only comment, " Ten and a half." Then they clapped, and I felt pretty good about myself.
I had forgotten how nice it is to shop on 5th Ave. Doors are opened for you, everyone in the store magically know you're name. Hand you drinks and everytime you so much as glance at an item it appears in your size in a dressing room that's been assigned for you. Then you get to try on pretty things while a small crowd of people shower you with compliments. Being a snobbish only child I love it, and it's the most amazing confidence boost.
Had dinner with Dave's family tonight, it was a lot of fun. I think I'm going to secretly move into his grandmother's beach house (I'm small they'll never notice)
Other notes...praying that France makes it to the final round in the world cup because I'll be in Paris for the final and I haven't been in a good riot in sooooo long.
Love,
Maryanna
(at some point I will recount the adventures of Sunday)
