Paranormal Activity, Supernatural and NoNoWriMo

I haven't updated this in a while and decided I might as well do so now. Twi Tour was a blast, I bought all kinds of fun things and got a picture with the wolf pack. That was fun. All the stars were really great, Billy and Edi were hilarious. I plan on going back next year as well, but i might have to postpone since there happens to be a Supernatural Convention around the same time, and I'll most likely only have money for one.

That aside, I saw Paranormal Activity today with two of my friends. I had high hopes for it, but it was sorely disappointing. "One of the scariest movies of all time"? I was laughing through the whole thing. My friends screamed a few times, though. So did most of our theater. But I guess I just didn't share in the experience. Were we watching the same movie? I hardly find a door moving by itself to be all that frightening.

Speaking of supernatural things, Supernatural has currently won my "current obsession" award. Love it, love it, love it. I bought season four a few weeks ago without having seen anything other than the first two episodes of season five, and I plowed through them. Castiel is definitely my top fave, but Dean and Sam are way up there too. (In fact,  it would be Castiel, Dean, Sam and then the others.) There are just so many good things about this show. I just finished watching season one the other day, can't wait to get my hands on seasons two and three. Season five is looking good so far. I particularly enjoyed the rapport between Cas and Dean in 5.02, 5.03 and 5.04. Future!Cas just broke my heart. I enjoyed last weeks episode as well. (The whoopie cushion, oh dear God.) I'd been looking forward to that episode ever since seeing the picture of Dean holding onto a miniature castiel action figure. I was wondering what the story behind that was.

Though of course I didn't take into account that, as amusing as seeing Castiel turned into a six-inch action figure by a eleven-year old Antichrist (Good Omens references, anyone?) could be, that it would mean he wouldn't be in most of the episode (or well, Cas as portrayed by the lovely Misha Collins, that is.)

It was nice to get a chance to rewatch Sympathy For the Devil this week, as well, so I didn't mind the short break of new episodes, as I had been wanting to rewatch the episode now that I understand who the characters are and what had taken place. Oh, and Chuck is <3. (So is Jimmy, for that matter. And Bobby, of course. There are too many great characters.)

I'm working on a slew of various SPN fanfics at the moment, and with any luck, they may make an appearance soon. -crosses fingers-

Supernatural-obsession aside, it's growing close to November, which means only one thing: NaNoWriMo. Last year was my first venture into those dark, stormy waters and I wasn't all that successful with it. (a mere 1,000 something words in four weeks. That's worse than terrible. I admit I wasn't all that gung-ho on my plot, though.) This year, however, I hope to at least make an effort. I have a few plots in mind and another week to decide which one I'd like to use. Maybe I'll post snippets or something once I get into it, not that anyone actually reads this. (besides you, blondie. -waves-) But let me pretend I have fans for a while. That feels nice.

Also, Halloween's coming up. Time for oddestoneout and I to break out the Good Omens costumes. She's going as Aziraphale to my Crowley. We plan to go out for sushi -- dressed in costume, of course -- and then amble around the duck pond a bit, clearly avoiding upsetting any fences this time around. I wonder if anyone will get the references? (Speaking of Good Omens references, I hear there's a crossroads demon named Crowley to appear in episode 5.10 of Supernatural. Now all we need is an appearance from Aziraphale and we'll be all set.)
