old man...

i have high blood pressure.
... so now i'm taking pills
i have a bad back.
... so now i'm wearing a brace.

at this age, i shouldn't be having these problems.  but alas, all my damage has caught up to me.  the other day i threw out my back after kids jumped all over it.  i stood up and felt this bad stinging sensation at the bottom of my spine.  what's worse is that it was during a walking field trip, so when we had to walk back every other step was killing me.  now even when i sneeze or cough, my back aches.  suckie.

on a lighter note.  last night, we had our SPEAKeasy (an event that me and my crew throw bi-weekly).  but this time we let the ladies own the stage, and in all honesty, not only was it the best turnout we've had yet, but it was the most entertaining show that we were a part of without performing.  it started with DJ Advice spinnin' the dope jams (pretty cool miss too.  her friend joined a few of us at conchings for post show dinner).  then d.dove came up and set the bar extremely high.  followed by the smooth abstract flows of @ddiquit  (great name).  then Miki Vale REALLY hyped up the crowd with her well put together set (and probably sold mad CDs at the same time).  after her, Vision (west coast female emcee) ripped the mic.  then MC FLOW, a SD Music Award winner, showed why she got the award with an ill live set complete with DJ, Hype Woman, AND a DANCER!... after her, Princess Leah killed the microphone with her vicious delivery and powerful presence.  we even had a surprise set sprung on us by Miss Kat, who jumped up on the stage and sang her heart out.  Aside from the initial mic problems, it was a great night.  i wish more people could have witnessed it though.
