I was driving to work this morning and heard a song I'd never heard before but immediately recognized the voice as Bob Dylan. It was something about "baby I just want to be your friend". I liked the lyrics. Bob Dylan was a GREAT lyricist. He had a terrible voice and his guitar playing (at least in that song) was very simple. Yet, people love(d) him. It made me wonder whether he would gain as much popularity today where the focus seems to be much more on musical ability and good voices to make it to the top. I don't think many people pay attention to the lyrics in the songs they are listening to anymore because a lot of the lyrics aren't that deep. I might try to find some more Dylan that doesn't get played on the radio very often. Thats the good stuff.
I was putting ice melt on some ice on the sidewalk and steps last night and as soon as I poured it on I could hear it working its magic just like Rice Krispies. I could actually hear it go "Snap, crackle, pop". Crazy.
I played Guitar Hero for the first time ever on Saturday night and That. Was. A. Blast. I think I played for two hours or so and my wrist was so sore I had to stop in fear that I would not be able to play for church Sunday morning. I am tempted to buy a PS2 just so I can get that game. What fun.
Duke is currently on a 2-game winning streak. Yesssss! Thursday night they will face a tough Clemson team who will be looking for blood after being slighted by a scorer’s table timing mishap that may have cost them the game last time. Oh yeah, and its at Clemson.
