Yesterday could have been better. I'm not complaining or saying that when I went to bed last night I was sour about the events that took place during the day, but I was aware of my misfortunes.
First, I had a slightly rough day at work. Making a decision to scrap a large number of parts due partly to an oversight on your part is never fun. A few other little things bothered me at work that probably would not have if the other thing didn't happen. The one thing that made it not bother me imensely was the fact that I was getting revved up for the DUKE-UNC game later that night.
Youth group was good. My singing was a little rough though because the kids were really getting into it and I couldn't hear my own voice, so I got off key a few times and noticed it distracted more than myself.
On the way home a telephone pole jumped out in the middle of the road and created a snowy steep ditch next to it that got my truck stuck until a tow truck came to pull it out. Bye bye $60. Hello taking another hit in the wallet to have the body work done because I have liability insurance only. I do have compensation however, so you can bet that if I see a deer or other large animal on the way home tonight there will be an audible exclamation of "YES!" followed by a maneuver designed to hit the deer on the exact spot the telephone pole struck my truck. Otherwise I will be forced to spend my lunch break tomorrow getting quotes from body shops around town.
To top it all off, after I finally got home to watch the recording of the DUKE-UNC game (thank God for DVR) the result was not pleasing. After starting strong and looking like they had a chance to demolish a very athletic UNC team, Duke blew the lead once again for their third straight loss; the first time that has happened since 1999.
And there was no rejoicing.
