Friday the 14th I flew up to Philly with John and Ahmad picking me up and spending at least 90 minutes driving to the venue. There were SO MANY people there, old (like 1998 old!), newer, and brand new that I felt so overwhelmed. It was hard to carry on a conversation because every 2 minutes someone else was hugging and screaming "OH MY GOD NO WAY!" it was fantastic though - I loved it. Didn't make it in time for the M&G. In fact didn't get to the venue until just before 8ish.

highlights/lowlights:
-front and dead center
-bumble bee tori outfit is very distracting at times. she should have a stinger on her ass
-always always love horses. still.
-siren!
-doughnut song made me cry the whole way and i didn't stop until josphine started
-taxi ride was unfuckingbelievable. solo - slowed down. very animated. AMAZING. it should never be done with the band ever again. just WOW.
-boys in the trees - my 2nd time hearing this one live and what a treat it is. amazing. tears. blubbering.
-not dying today was so fun! not my favorite on the cd, but i like what it stands for and tori had SO MUCH FUN with this one. lots of big grins.
-bliss - i could hear this song every show.
-fast horse was an improvement from the first time i had heard it live. still lacking that special *something* from the cd. maybe it just needs time
-take to the sky with i feel the earth move - incredible!
We got up the next morning and tried to get into the Wold Cafe / Free at Noon radio thingie that Tori was doing. We stood outside in unbearable heat for almost 2 hours? 2 hours? something like that. We all got in -12 of us.
World Cafe Live, Philadelphia, PA - August 15, 2009

silent all these years
mary jane
lady in blue
Tori looked and sounded tired. We figured she was saving her voice for that night's show - at least we hoped that was it. She didn't belt like she normally would and it was more faint singing. I will say that Silent was actually very good and lady in blue she finally got into some force and it was awesome. I was able to take a video of that if I can ever get it off of my computer.

-black-dove! lisa!
-northern lad->cars & guitars->your cloud - dear god. not my pick of a threesome for sure.
-flying dutchman perked us all up and we were stoked! however, while it was very good, she did puss out on the end high notes.
-china with the band was nice
-always love some carbon
-police me is one of the better songs from the new album that translates well live. really enjoy this one.
-past the mission!!! yessssssssssss!
-encore rush happened early in PT and I have no idea how we ended up so close. I'm going to give credit to ahmad for that one. but the bonus in that is that i took video and pictures.
