dateless_doc: [txt] Have something in mind for tonight?
whatstheddx: [txt] I have something in my pants for tonight, too.
dateless_doc [txt] How can I resist such a sweet talk [txt] Be in my office in ten minutes
whatstheddx: [txt] Yes, mistress. [txt] Shall I bring what's in my pants to your office?
dateless_doc: [txt] Yes. You're more fun when you've got something in your pants
whatstheddx: [txt] Good thing I've always got something in my pants.
[five minutes later...]
whatstheddx:
House poked his head around the door of Cuddy's office and peered in, deviousness written all over his face. "Someone asked for the doctor to make a House call?"
dateless_doc:
She looked up, just closing the last report and setting it aside. "Really? The way I remember it--the doctor was looking for an excuse to make a house call."
She stood up and smiled. "Miss me?"
whatstheddx:
"Semantics," House replied with a dismissive shrug. He stood straighter and slipped into the room, and was closing the door behind him just as Cuddy asked if he'd missed her.
He pressed his lips together and gave another shrug, a casual one this time as if to convey the opposite to what she wanted to hear - and the opposite to what he was really thinking.
"No more than you missed me."
dateless_doc:
She had a smile on her face as she approached him...maybe it was just a bit of a smirk, actually. He could try to play it cool but --this time at least-- she was pretty sure she knew better.
"That much, huh?"
whatstheddx:
Again, House tried to assert the pretence of really not having missed Cuddy one iota. He screwed his face up into a mock "not really" expression and held his hand up with his forefinger and thumb pinched almost together.
"Hmmm, maybe this much," he said. Though, as Cuddy came close, he dropped his hand away along with the pretence and gave her a hint of a soft smile. Even if they worked in the same building and saw each other at least once a day in passing, seeing Cuddy brought a thrill to him that seared through his insides like a rush of tingling heat in a way that was completely new and exciting. Right now, he was gladder than anything to see her.
He threw a quick glance towards the doors that looked out into the lobby. The blinds were down but they weren't shut. No one was looking in anyway. "Does spending more time than is healthy thinking about how you look naked classed as missing you?" he continued when he returned his gaze to hers, smirk on his face.
dateless_doc:
She came to a stop just inches away from him, close enough to smell the faint scent of his soap. Almost close enough to feel the heat of his body. The smile on her face deepened when she saw him looking around to gauge how much privacy they had.
"I though you'd always spent more time than was healthy imagining me naked," she said dryly. She rested one hand on his chest and leaned in for a kiss. "Of course, the difference now is you aren't limited to imagination."
whatstheddx:
The kiss was only soft and brief but a warmth spread from his head down to his toes in response to it, intense enough to make House feel close to dizzy. He'd closed his eyes for the kiss, too, and when there was air between them again he met her gaze.
"I wasn't limited to imagination before, either," he reminded her. That had been years ago, though. He sometimes felt the need to pinch himself that the very thing he'd wanted with her all those years before had finally come full circle.
He looked over to the doors again. He didn't really care all that much if anyone saw them, but he was also intensely private about his personal life. For the sole purpose of not wanting his business to be anyone else's, he didn't want anyone looking in and seeing him and Cuddy close like this.
He reached for her hand, though, and loosely let their fingers tangle together, his fingertips just within the clasp of Cuddy's. "So, does this mean you're finishing up early?"
dateless_doc:
She gave a small, one-shouldered shrug. He might as well have been limited to imagination. One night, twenty years ago couldn't have provided a lot of food for thought. Personally, she'd tried not to remember. Not because it had been a bad experience. Far from it. She tried to forget because it had become obvious it wasn't going to happen again once he disappeared without a word. Remembering was just painful.
"Yeah, I'm done. Just have to turn off the computer and grab my purse." She gave his hand a brief squeeze. "Want to meet me at home?"
whatstheddx:
He squeezed her hand in return, quickly curling his fingers a little tighter around hers, and then let their hands fall away. "Hmm..." he mused.
He had no qualms about meeting her at her home. Thing was, Rachel was going to be there with the nanny. Not that House had any real qualms about Rachel, either, not yet at least, but going back to Cuddy's place meant sex, interrupted.
He lifted his arm to look at his watch. "Your nanny's not clocking off for at least another hour and a half," he said. "We could make the most of that and meet at mine." He lifted his brows, hoping he was piquing Cuddy's interest with what he was suggesting. "No kids, no interruptions..."
dateless_doc:
"I can see you've got your priorities in order," she said dryly. Not that it was any surprise. House pretty much always had sex as a top priority, if his constant allusions to it were anything to go by.
Now that they were in a new relationship, or a new phase of an old relationship, sex was definitely a priority. It didn't matter they were a bit older or that they'd known each other for years. They were still having that honeymoon phase where everything felt new and exciting.
"Okay, I'll meet you at your place in fifteen minutes." She trailed her hand along his arm...then gave him a gentle push toward the door. The sooner he got out of her office, the sooner she could lock up and drive to his apartment.
whatstheddx:
"If you want to talk about priorities, let's discuss what your priorities were the other night," he began. Cuddy was now nudging him towards the door but he kept talking, looking over his shoulder at her. "Those vocal, demanding, multi-orgasmic priorities..."
It was only because he was eager to get to his apartment that he left the subject at that. When he neared the door, he grasped the handle and turned it but not before looking back at Cuddy. "See you in fifteen," he said with a smirk.
He threw the door open and exited, a spring to his step while he whistled a jaunty tune as he crossed to the set of doors that led out to the lobby.
dateless_doc:
"I can change my priorities if you like," she said, giving him a stronger push toward the door. It was an empty threat, of course. She'd never made a secret of the fact she enjoyed sex. She'd never even let House's constant references to what he imagined her sex life to be cause her any serious embarrassment. Now that their sex lives were one and the same, though, she didn't want him broadcasting the details.
Once he'd left--and if he thought he was hiding anything he was sorely mistaken because his good mood was apparent as he made his way across the lobby, whistling--she turned off the lights and locked up her office. A quick word with her assistant and she was done.
She drove her SUV, now obviously the vehicle of a mother given all the toys and snacks scattered around, straight to his apartment. Although she knew where to find his spare key, she knocked on the door instead.
whatstheddx:
House made a brief trip back upstairs to collect his things. Thankfully, all his loose ends of the day were already all tied up; he wasted no time in leaving his office and heading out to his bike. He rode back to his apartment, collected his mail as he passed through the front lobby and dumped his things inside once the door was closed behind him.
He'd been spending a lot more time in his apartment of late than at the apartment he'd been sharing with Wilson, though his home still had the lingering musty scent of not having been lived in for a long while. He was frankly glad to be returning to living in his old place. Living with Wilson was no holiday; they barely got along at the best of times, let alone when they were practically living in each other's pockets. While barely getting along worked just fine for their friendship, it didn't make for very tolerable living circumstances.
After he stripped off his jacket and toed off his shoes, he headed for the bathroom to quickly freshen up a little; he hummed to himself while he gave his teeth a quick brush. He was still in the chipper mood he'd left work in, though excitement was creeping in, too. The last couple of weeks, he'd been riding on a new relationship high - stomach flutters and increasing heart rates whenever he thought about Cuddy, and more so whenever they kissed. Cuddy had always had a way of making him feel funny but now he had a reason to smile about that instead of combating feelings of frustration and longing.
Just as he was flicking the light off in the bathroom upon exiting, his stomach did a small flip at the knock on his front door. He couldn't get there fast enough, either. "Took you long enough," he greeted, stepping back to let Cuddy in. He had a delighted, playful grin on his face at seeing her and the moment she'd closed the door after herself, he backed her up against it with a greedy, hard kiss to her lips.
dateless_doc:
Cuddy started tapping her fingers against her thigh as she waited for House to answer the door. It was silly to be feeling like such a teenager at her age, but that's exactly what it felt like. Nervous, excited, almost giddy--having decided to take a chance on a relationship with House had brought out all the feelings of falling in love for the first time.
She smiled in response to his grin. "I drove straight here," she protested mildly as she closed the door. She didn't have time to say any more than that before he had her pinned against the door.
She dropped her purse somewhere beside her and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. This excitement, this passion was what she'd been missing with Lucas. Lucas was a good guy, he really was. In many ways, he'd given her the things she needed in her life: dependability, caring, support, even taking on the role of father-figure to Rachel. But he'd never ignited this kind of passion in her.
"Guess you really did miss me," she said, smiling against House's mouth. She pressed even closer to him, holding him tight. "Now, about that something you have in your pants...."
