Hey, thanks for thr update for chapter 10 although I might say the family bonding part with jim, joanna and bones got a little too greasy to read. I did like how you introduce gaila into you fanfic, she seems very orion-like. I was really upset with uhura when she confronted jim about her opinion of her but I thought the tension between them kinda ended too quickly, I was hoping for more of this one-sided flirting that jim enjoys to do sometimes

I love Gaila. And family bonding is--I try to make it as less cliche and cheesy. This stuff isn't easy to write but I do what I can. As for the tuition, in Pike's letter, he stated that his petition to waiver the fees was successful and will remain in effect SO LONG as Jim continues to show academic excellence (which she should cause she is smart).
As for how I want to outline her character, well, I'm going more towards the canon version with a twist. Jim Kirk in academy days is cocky and untried and has a interesting perspective on diplomacy. She's not quite as compassionate as she will be in the future. She pretty much thinks that anything she does and will do in completely justified because good intentions trumps all else.
She does work as a tutor. That's a paid job, and pretty decently paid because the pay rate is based on the number of tutees she has and the time put in.
Bones's job (as stated) is as the head physician to the Starfleet Health Center.
I always think this but never say it but really do appreciate all your hard work and the effort you put into creating your stories. Every time I see a notice in my inbox about a new chapter, I get so excited. I'm really glad Jim and Uhura talked it out. One of the things that really bothered me in the movie when it first came out is the grudge that Uhura had towards Kirk when in my eyes, really his only crime was using bad pickup lines on her. I'm sure as a very beautiful girl, she's heard worse lines from lamer people. I never got why that was such an unforgivable sin for her. So it was really nice to see them talk it out and take steps towards becoming friends and confidants.
