Yo... it's me, your friend, the conspiracy theorist.
First, I've got to tell a story since it's relevant to my rant today. I was headed out to find some hardware to hang and frame paintings here at mi casa... where do you go? Almost blindly, I steered my jeep towards Wal-Mart. For two reasons I did not go to Wal-Mart:
Wal-Mart is the largest corporation in the world - or at least that's what I've been hearing on the news lately - they employ more people in the US than any other... besides the government of course. We all know that there are very few small businesses left in many cities or towns today...
The particular Wal-Mart in question is dirty - just filthy and is commonly called - in my neighborhood (which is more or less a student area) THE GHETTO WAL-MART
The spirit of supporting a local business uged my visiting of a local (and floundering) Scotty's Hardware. True, Scotty's is a corporation, but it's a little less so than WAL-MART... Scotty's doesn't have much and is set up in a way which makes shopping difficult. Needless to say, after about 15 minutes of wandering around, I ask the cashier at the front desk (who's clad in gold rings and necklaces and bleached hair) where I could find a clamping device - or HEY! Clothespins!!! Do you have them?
"You should try Wal-Mart, they've got clothespins..." she says.
"I can't go to Wal-Mart," I add.
Then I explained why and she looked even more puzzled.... needless to say, another employee said I should try Row10, I did. I found the clothespins, much to the suprise of someone's baby's momma.
