River Awards.
Last night I experienced the unstoppable force that is... the GHS 'River Awards'. Basically how this works is that all the seniors gather together and all kinds of horrible awards are given out so that peoples feelings will get hurt, and fights will break out (sounds like a good time, right?). For the voting process the girls go into one room and the guys go into another room (sounds kinda like the story of my life). The actual voting process essentially boils down to whoever screams the loudest - it was complete and total anarchy, just as I had hoped. The awards were for things like river STD, river goddess, river jungle bush, river butterface, river pecker wrecker, river golden throat, river rogaine, river player, river plastic dick, river needs implants, river came in 'not' left 'hot', river football slut - stuff like that. It was quite interesting when the awards were given out. Some people celebrated, some people cried, and I got the "river comedian" award (could have been worse). Some of the evening was just downright evil. They gave the male version of river STD to a kid who is in jail on vehicular manslaughter. River legend was given with absolutely no explanation to a kid who fell off of the roof of the science building earlier in the semester. Even worse than all that is the fact that my friends and I kinda sorta helped a friend of ours win a very bad award. We were graced by the river god when they forgot to announce the award. It was a typical fun time. These senior events are starting to freak me out though...
