My heart aches for mankind and the hate we all seem to harbor within ourselves. The world is a harsh place, all of us living our own lives, believing that we each have it harder than anyone else and therefore thinking that everyone is out to get us because of it. Racism is a very real problem but it doesn’t need to be. Why do we as a human race tend to hate and/or fear others because they are different from ourselves? There is a lot of hate in this world. That makes me very sad; especially when I hear it coming from my own family. Even if it was meant as a joke it still hurts my heart to hear the words coming from blood relations. I wonder why do we all seem to hate others so much? Is it because we are all to concerned with our own lives? People can not and should not be grouped together as being the same as others who look like them. Didn’t we all learn in 1st grade that everyone is unique, special, and different? Maybe the problem is we tend to forget that as we grow older. Sometimes life can be hard, we can let someone in close to our hearts and that person may hurt us in the end- but that is no reason to hate others like them. Same goes for the sexes- just because one guy may break my heart that is no reason for me to go around believing they all will. If I believed that the chances I’ll get hurt again are even greater because I won’t be as willing to let anyone in. And guess what- the great guy wanting to be let in may start to hate the fact I won’t let him in, spawning any number of outcomes, but none of them sound happy. Fear is a powerful and very destructive emotion. Maybe we are all too afraid of getting hurt and that’s why there is so much hate. It may sound corny- but I wonder what would happen if we all allowed a little more love in our hearts? Could the world really be a better place?
