We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us...

I love unplanned drinking. I love that I can drink, get pleasantly out of head for a couple hours, then pound some water and be ready to discuss Cicero the next morning.

Yesterday I woke up at 7:30 like I always do and the sunrise was the most gorgeous I've seen since being here. I only stared for a few minutes before I went to shower and by the time I got back the orange and pink was gone and the sky had reverted back to its uniform gray.

Last night was very surreal. All of a sudden I looked around and I was sitting in a cafe at the bottom of Queen Anne Hill drinking hot chocolate with my history professor discussing the peripeteia in 'Purgatorio.' And Johnny Cash was playing...

It was one of those "Wait, I'm in college? When the HELL did that happen?!" moments.

So yeah this play we saw was based on the premise that Jason and Medea are in purgatory trying to forgive each other. Besides some overracting and the fact that it took a good half hour for the script to really get going, I enjoyed it. I really liked some of the things it had to say about love, relationships, etc. Plus I love 'Medea'...I think I might try to reread the Anouilh version over thanksgiving break.

Oh, reading for pleasure. My philosophy professor totally referenced my favorite quote from 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern' yesterday and I wanted to go home and read it again but alas I had to do history homework.

Last night I got a random message on myspace from a soldier in Iraq who was like, "I'm just looking for any connection to the outside world" and then proceeded to comment on my love of Bob Dylan. I'm not really sure how to respond to it.

I would go work out, but I walked a good 2 miles back from the theater last night so I think I'm covered for a couple days. Plus I hate the phrase 'work out.' So I think I might take a nap.
