so yeah, jimmy eat world at the stone pony last night kicked serious ass, in spite of the traffic going south on the parkway at dinnertime.

i left work early (actually about 15 minutes after i wanted to have left by, but whatever), get home and theres a big box of bug parts again, so i had to stash that before i could get read to go.
jay and helen pick me up about 4, and before we knew it we were in traffic. we got to asbury park at about 6.40, including stopping for a slice in cheesequake. doors opened at 7.

now, as you may or may not know, none of you are around, or it was a schoolnight, and i suck at finding dates, so as i progressively struck out a couple times around campus, i moved on to family members and finally to friends and friends-through-friends. amanda fell through and i was left with my self-proclaimed "last resort," a friend i have through steve named kathy. kathy had an exam that night but would join us after it. anyway, being as kathy was gonna get there late, and there were 2 opening acts (gratitude and razorlight) so it was all good. my "date" (i use quotes since shes got a boyfriend) arrived at about 8.30, after gratitude had finished their set. t-shirts were bought, and i dont know how many of you have been to the stone pony before, but the place is friggin tiny. as it got later, it got more crowded. i started mooing since we were packed in like cattle. all the standard packed crowd things happened too, people crowd surfing, a mosh pit got going for a little bit.
jimmy eat world went on about 10.30 and played till about 11.45 or so. off the top of my head, they played pain, the middle, futures, authority song, get it faster, praise chorus, ending up with sweetness as the closer. the awesome part was they took a couple requests, which i guess were off the clarity cd, since i wasnt too familiar with them.
got home and to bed about 1.30am, to be up and in my seat for class at 8. it took an extra cup of coffee to get me fully conscious this morning.
all in all, extremely worth it.
