[Sayo returns from the tunnels, and it's like a welled up pressure in her chest finally dissipates into something more manageable-to go from a battlefield of bodies to a clean, cold forest that takes the air right out of her... she almost feels detached from reality, for the return home. You'll probably be tired for a little while; being on a battlefield wears out even people who are used to them. Rest, eat some good food, do something you like to do.

Something I like to do... that's a good idea. I hope the others are keeping themselves occupied, too, then; a lot of them seemed so tired, perhaps it'd do them some good to focus on that sort of thing.

It's rather strange to you, isn't it? I've gotten used to a lot of 'huhs' and 'whats' in my past few months here!

Oh, it's fine to ask, yes! You see, a while back... I'm not sure exactly when... I'd gotten infected with a special creature that not only keeps me up at night, but feeds on memories.

Something like that, yes. They're called mushi, and they exist all over my world. Though, some can't see them, while others can.

Mm, a mushi. They're little creatures that take on many forms and roles back home. Mine happens to be a Kagedama-it nests in shadow and waits for something to fall asleep, so it can crawl in and make a home through their ear.

[Though, how long she remembers what a mushi even is is up in the air.]

Well... yes, it does. In this place, it wouldn't survive outside of my body, I've been told. I suppose Mushi have a hard time thriving here.
