So were the people working on designing human kenai and bear kenai in Brother Bear even, like, talking to each other? Human Kenai has a pretty good design that evokes a bear via posture, but bear Kenai looks absolutely nothing like human Kenai. His eyes are a completely different shape (as the eyes are the window to the soul, the eyes not looking like they belong to the same character and accidentally subvert any continuity between the two) and are larger, which...doesn't seem right. Bears have porportionally small eyes, and since the eyes are windows to the soul, they should stay the same actual size, so there is no excuse for making the eyes larger other than that it's CUTE!1. And that is not a good excuse.
I wonder what, if any, influence kabuki theatre has on anime art style.
You know, self-awareness in fiction has become overused and dull already. Where do we go after this. What more can we ever possibly explore? Have we reached a dead end?
