I love my sister.
Hi Sue,
yes indeed I'm coming for Emma's graduation; just for the Sun/Mon though
because all my contemporary's* kids are getting ANCIENT and I've got a
flurry of parties to go to, including 2 on the Saturday before. I'm not sure
if Jim's coming as he doesn't tend to make plans more than a few hours in
advance. Jon and some of his family may come!
Say, are you guys getting some 17-year locust action up there? For days here
it's sounded as though space ships are idling in the woods. If we walk up a
certain bare-ish, sandy hillside at twilight the ground is alive with them,
tens of thousands of them scrabbling up out of their holes. The local papers
are full of recipes.
Glad to hear you're visiting your friend Frank, and that he's keeping up the
good fight through activism AND art. Cindy Sheehan's feeling like she has to
quit is the saddest thing I've ever heard. Now she really will mourn her
child.
Looking forward to seeing you and A in two weeks,
Love, S
* I'm stumped here for spelling and punctuation! What's the plural,
possessive of "contemporary"?
