I have a lot of berries now. It's more than I need and I can just plant more later if I need to.

No, because someone might have problems if they don't know what they have.

This way, I can make sure they know what they're getting and what it does.

A berry is a berry. And if it's dangerous then why are you giving them away in the first place?

A berry isn't a berry. And problem don't mean danger.

It just means things that are more easily avoided with knowledge of what each berry does. Like if you don't like spicy things you should leave Tomato berries alone.

But not everyone reads so this works out better for now.

I know they know what they habe this way, unless they lie. If they do then that's their fault.

Somehow I don't think it works that way. Once you give something away then for all you know they may swap with others again and again.

If they give them out without trying to properly inform people then that's also their fault.

I'm doing my part by making sure the knowledge is available. I can't do much if they don't use it.

Even planting them needs the right knowledge or only a couple berries will grow before the tree dies.
