I need to make something for lost_land's last challenge and I can't think of ANYTHING. I've been sitting here for over a hour, browsing through old pages, photoshop opened, and NOTHING. I'm feeling frustrated over the most ridiculous things. *facepalm*
So... I filled out a meme. Between a moment of staring blankly at the canvas of PS and the other.
Name a TV show series in which you have seen every episode at least twice:
LOST.
Name a (current) show you can't miss:
Fringe. Even if S4 can't hold a candle to S3, so far.
Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show:
Elizabeth Mitchell, Josh Holloway, Richard Armitage, Katey Sagal.
Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:
Chad Michael Murray (I'm allergic to the guy), David Boreanaz, Calista Flockhart.
Name a show you can, and do, quote from.
Uh, so many. Lost, Friends, Community, Gilmore Girls, Battlestar Galactica...
Name a show you like that no one else/only one other person enjoys:
Prime Suspect US, Due South.
Name a TV show which you've been known to sing the theme song.
Happy Days (I was a kid who didn't know a word of English watching reruns. If anyone had recorded my singing attempts, now they would have some great blackmailing/mocking material).
Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:
Battlestar Galactica, Friday Night Lights, Band of Brothers.
I won't say Lost or The X-Files because I'm sure I must have already pestered you about them at some point. *grins*
Name TV series you own on DVD:
I don't have many, I've always been too broke to feel ok with spending much money on DVDs and being a closeted TV whore in RL, it's rare that someone makes me a TV related present (boo).
Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium, but has surprised you with his/her acting choices in television:
Hmm... can't think of many right now, to be honest. Glenn Close.
What is your favourite episode of your favourite series?
That's hard. 'Outlaws' from LOST.
A show you mean to watch, but you just haven't gotten around to yet:
Breaking Bad, Games of Thrones (still trying to decide if I want to read the books first/instead), Curb Your Enthusiasm, Spaced, The Wire, Treme, Boardwalk Empire.
In the midst of, but haven't caught up and/or finished:
Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy.
Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
Yup. Most recent example: Person of Interest, after 7 episodes (Michael Emerson, I'm not even your biggest fan, but you deserve so much better than the trite, soporific dialogue they throw at you there) and Ringer (hard to watch a show about two twin sisters switching lives when you don't care about either of them).
Name a show you aren't interested in watching, not in the least:
One Tree Hill and 90% of what is airing/aired on the CW.
Name a show that's made you cry multiple times:
LOST. It's also the show that's made me cry the hardest/ugliest (my mother saw me the day after The Incident aired, and got genuinely worried. I don't even remember what excuse I made up, because if I had told her my devastation was over a fictional character's death, she would've disowned me.)
What's your current unpopular TV opinion?:
- I would take 1 Charlie Francis over 2, or even 4, Lincoln Lee (Fringe).
- Shane is a jackass, but he and Daryl are the only two preventing the second season of The Walking Dead from boring me to tears, so go Shane.
- As cute as Ben & Leslie are, I don't really care if they're together or not (Parks and Recreation).
- I don't want Sheldon and Penny to hook up, ever (The Big Bang Theory).
Oldest TV show you like?
The Twilight Zone.
Newest TV show you like?
Homeland.
What do you eat when you watch TV?
I don't eat often while watching TV (mostly because I watch all current shows on the computer), but when I do, it's either a yoghurt, fruit, or chocolate.
How often do you watch TV?
It depends on how much "peaceful" time I have, some weeks I overdose on tv shows, others I can barely catch 1 or 2 episodes. I often watch Italian political programs/documentaries/news shows after dinner, though, so the right answer would be: daily.
Do you have a favorite talk show?
I only watch talk shows (Ellen, Kimmel, Conan...) when someone I like is a guest on them.
What's the last TV show you watched?
The latest Prime Suspect episode.
What's your favourite/preferred genre of TV?
It's a toss between drama and sci-fi. I think drama wins, though.
What's your least favourite genre of TV?
Realities & musicals.
What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
Do cartoons & anime count? Because
The Rose of Versailles (watched on reruns) is the first memory I have of a show I have obsessed about. If not, then Twin Peaks.
What will turn you off the fastest from a TV show?
Too many/heavy-handed romantic shenanigans.
What TV show do you wish you never watched?
I was about to say The Killing, but that absolute mess of a season finale doesn't erase some of the things the show did right. I could also say V (which started going downhill at the speed of light after only 4 episodes before Scott Rosenbaum killed it for good) but Liz looked super pretty on the show, especially in Season 2, and I wouldn't want to undo the lovely sight. I wish I could erase every single memory of its series finale from my brain, though.
What's the weirdest show you enjoyed?
If you asked me why I like American Horror Story, I wouldn't know how to answer. As every other Ryan Murphy show, the characters' actions don't make sense and the plot either, and sometimes (often) the dialogue is facepalm-inducing, yet I am addicted. I was saying on Twitter the other day that it could be Karma's payback for my passionate hate against anything Glee.
What TV show scared you the most?
The X-Files' episode "Home".
What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?
Friends, Futurama.
Which do you think is the best TV series ever made?
Oh boy, this is a hard one to answer for me because I haven't watched many series that often make the "top 100"/"must watch" lists (like The Wire), and I don't think there is any tv show which has been consistently awesome from beginning to end among those I've watched (to be honest, I believe there can be no such a thing as a perfect tv show, only perfect seasons of this or that show).
So I'll cheat and give you the series which had the best, most fitting finale for its run in my opinion - Six Feet Under.
