the burgers fight!
ok let's talk about food today, and one of my favourite food of all times, BURGERS! i dont know why but i feel in love with burgers recently.. love doing food posts because looking at food makes me happy but hungry :/ dont you think its a luxury and blessing to be able to spend and indulge in food, whereas people in some parts of the world are starving.. trying to get through the days, surviving on minimal food.. argh ok enough about depressing stuff, more about that next time!
introducing 2 burger places: HANDBURGER AND RELISH
so one fine day, shane decided to ask us out for a burger date at Handburger at Raffles Place! & the four of us very happily and willingly agreed, because we're foodies like that.
i had a very hard time looking for the place though, i got lost in the basement :/ i ended up walking in circles around the basement hahaha. even after i went to the washroom, i couldnt locate the place, and ended up walking around the basement 3 times. i think people who were sitting around the fountain were wondering what the hell is this person doing, why is she always walking past me? i'm pretty bad at directions & i dont really recognize roads and all that stuff, but im trying! haha.
the place was really crowded, and i hate crowds. and their tables were all joined together, super cramp!!!!! and everyone is seated beside each other, like just beside, pang bian, no gap at all. can easily overhear what the other diners are conversing about..
love their menu, comes with pictures of the burgers! and its really easy to see what they have with one glance.
the burger warren and I had. THE WORKS BURGER. egg, bacon, onion rings, beef patty..... OMG felt like i was about to have a heart attack after that. really oily.. but warren the unmanly man gave away almost half of what's in his burger. stay at home diet better la, haha!

the really bleah chips/fries/whatever that came with the burger. i ate it only coz i'm a sucker for potatoes! <3 potatoes like a fat kid loves cake. HAHAHA!
the burger portions were kinda huge, so there were some leftovers by the unmanly men shane and warren. and because the 4 of us do not eat tomatoes (I HATE TOMATOES OMG, the they taste weird :/ ), shane came up with a tomato burger. they should add it in the menu and label it the healthier choice.

warren amused with what shane always does with leftovers.. and you see the person is really seated beside us, pang bian only! no privacy at all.. if im the person sitting beside shane i would have been turned off at how he plays with food. zzz.
one really smart move though, having mirrors around so we can take photos ourselves and not engage for the staff's help. HAHA.
would only rate Handburger 2.5 burgers out of 5! the ambience, the food, the service.. didnt really meet my expectations.i didnt enjoy myself :/
Relish, on the other hand.. is definitely worth a visit! Recommended by our F&B teacher Mr Govin who is a foodie and regular at the shop itself! :D
but its rather out of the way though, located at Cluny Court. but still, good food so must go! (:
love their gate can. super garden-like. and the whole place in the day is really white, very clean cut image, natural light coming in through the windows. really nice :D at night is really.. orangey. haha. they open for lunch and dinner only, 12-3pm and 6.30-10.30pm i think? head there on wednesdays though, free desserts for ladies with every main course or something. WHO DOESNT LIKE FREE RIGHT? ;)
quiet, relaxed, chilled out atmosphere.

awesome kickass ceasar salad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! really yummmmsssssss!!!
and my seafood burger. HAHA ok cant really see its a seafood burger, but anyway.. its really damn good can its a real seafood patty! squid, octopus, prawns and forget what else is inside, coupled with the lemon mayo, thumbs up x 10000. i have been there 4 times and i had this twice!!! that's how good it is :D
other burgers on the menu are ram lee burger, char siew burger, lamb pita (?!), bacon and cheese burger, mexicana burger etc etc. not to forget their signature wild rocket burger which my friends complimented on. they offer pastas as well and their DESSERTS are the BOMB!!!!!!!
wanna try their weekend bruch, really tempting menu!

bonus was having island creamery next door, so we hopped over for somemore desserts.. HAHA (:
Relish deserves 4.5 burgers out of 5! that's how awesome the place is! the only downside that it may be quite inconvenient to get to because there's no MRT nearby.. but lots of buses pass by that area though. my friends love the place as well. do make a reservation with them just in case they get crazy busy and you gotta wait in line, which happens during weekends..
