Old People

my grandpa was telling me about a bluegrass festival he went to and how it was long and boring and he only liked about 4 songs. I think he was trying to relate to me but I love bluegrass so it didn't work. I asked him if he was more into rap and he replied "No, I can't dig that" either he was trying to relate to me again or he's into jazz. My grandparents are an extraordinary couple. they've been pastoring the same church for over 50 years. it's in the middle of nowhere in southwest missouri. my grandpa is one of the best preachers I've ever heard because he knows the word. he reads and studies from early in the morning to early at night. (old people don't stay up late) he's in his 70's and he's been doing that for most of his life. the bible is insanely complex and layered. the fact that we can study the bible our whole lives and still never grasp everything it can say to us is amazing. My grandpa just sticks to the preaching which leaves everything else to my grandma. I just found out today how much of a genius she is. she is the secretary/accountant for the church, cemetery, and a youth camp. She's really smart with money. she was telling me that they only run 175-200 people but they were able to build a brand new church and they still have $300,000 in savings and $300,000 in checking. I waste money like it's going out of style. I can't help it that so many good albums exist. I also can't help it that there are so many books that I need to buy and never read. I think I'll go read a comic book now.
