Heyyyy
Apologies for the last loser depressing entry. It's just hard sometimes...
All better now though. I got to go home again, even though I was just there two weeks ago, then will be going back in two weeks for two weeks in a row, then we're out two weeks after that! YESSSS!
I love weekends at home so much. I love my mom more than life. Tradition is starting to ensue every single time I'm home for a weekend. Friday is family dinner and laundry and we get nails and tanning out of the way if we want. And it sounds silly to everyone else except those with little sisters, but Jordan and I have to have a sleepover with a rented dvd and junk food. It's become a must. Saturdays, we often go down to canton and westland for mall time and to visit grama, then back with the fam for dinner and a movie.
So, Friday, Jo and I rented Hotel Rawanda and Derailed and had all of our candy, of course. Then we stayed up talking about things for two hours. Nice.
Saturday, I did FABULOUSLY at the mall, with a much-needed new pair of tennis shoes (ROOS!), a pair of jeans, two shirts, two tanks, a pair of capris, and earings! Then home for a nap... At about 5, the whole family headed out for a super dinner at Champs and then to see the new movie, "Inside Man." It was pretty good. Your typical police-detective bank robber bad buy deal.
Changing the subject, here. I've found yet another little passion of mine recently, starting last Thursday. We saw the rough cut of "Invisible Children," a feature film set to release this summer about the children of Africa.
Basically, I'm crazy for this cause and I've even seriously considered taking a semester off to go there. Still considering... we'll see.
Anyway, so April 29th, I'm super excited. Pay attention, because you can do this too. If you live on a campus of His House people (We like to say "Hizzites" or "Hisouseans") or if you'd just like to check it out and get a group together OOORRR if you'd like to join us in Mount Pleasant, listen up.
Saturday, April 29th is The Global Night Commute and it's happening in every state across the country. We are going to a meeting place in Lansing to walk from there to the capital to sleep on the sidewalk. BECAUSE, the children in Africa are so often abducted to be killed, forced as slave slaborers or sex slaves, OR trained as child soldiers (brainwashed to kill without remorse)... So to save themselves from capture, many children will walk miles to town or a safe place to sleep in fear of sleeping in their homes and being taken or killed.
I think it's gonna be such a good time to come together and make a difference. There's media all over this thing too. Let me know if you think you're interested.
Okay. Math homework. Gag me.
Have a good week. LUVVV!
