i pulled up an essay that i had half started a while ago... need to finish it by the end of the semester. alright... this is what i had previously written:
"Introduction
The biblical story of Jacob and Esau stretches over four chapters of the book of Genesis. In particular, it includes Genesis 25.19-34, 26.34-35, and the wholes of chapters 27 and 28. In this paper, I will be exploring the historical context and sources of this piece of biblical text, as well as examining exegeses of the text, and comparing these to a literal interpretation. Specifically, I will attempt to answer these following questions:
1. From which source did this text originate?
2. What is its historical context?
3. How does the exegetic interpretation differ from the literal?
Through this investigation, I hope to give a better understanding of the story of Jacob and Esau, and this portion of the book of Genesis.
From which source did this text originate?
The general this is soooo lame... c.r.a.p...
Okay, screw this."
crap. this is going to be interesting.
