It wasn't hard to find Murphy in the CES. Gunshots are like that. The sounds also made Cissie's stomach knot up and unpleasant memories--similar gunshots and screaming and begging and then that silence--came to mind. This was... maybe not the best idea after all. She stood not far from Murphy, watching her shoot at people-shaped targets and considered backtracking before the other woman could see her. She just... couldn't quite seem to make herself move.]

[She takes her time getting her gear ready, making sure the bowstring is tight enough and her arm guard is on properly and all that jazz. She's not stalling, though. No way. The shape of the target in front of her is... kind of achingly familiar. She could be eight years old instead of eighteen, standing in her backyard with her mother. She fits an arrow to her bow and raises it. But she hesitates, only lifting halfway. She hasn't used a human-shaped target since she was fifteen, and even then, the point was to aim at non-lethal points. Her mother may have been insane, but she had at least taught her daughter that heroes don't kill if they can help it. She can see clearly where Murphy was aiming--heart and head--and she reminds herself that that's what cops do when they have target practice.
