(no subject)
Last night was our F2 screening. Piddly shit 5 hour shoots in the same two locations with two actors from our own class, just to work with film for the first time and learn acting. They came out really well. Funny when they should have been, intense when they should have been. Peoplke liked mine, liked the lighting on one of my actors, which was all carlos (my dp), and one line from mine ended up being one of the four awesome lines of the night. A girl is asking another girl at a motel if she's seen a dragon, and the girl says they dont exist. The dragonslayer girl says they do, that her brother has a poster that brags about all the different species of dragon, and claire behind the desk says, "...I think that's fake...Like a GAME or something..." Trying to be sweet and telling people they're wrong is funny.
Afterward though, we had a film school kegger at caleb's house. Funny thing is, Reb showed up.
Before our class, chip chalmers taught bfa's directing and reb taught the mfa's. But they flipflopped so they'd know everyone in the school. Before talking to reb, you get the impression he is always bitter, a little guy who smokes a lot and wears nothing but black leather jackets, shirts, blue jeans and boots. Then you meet him and he gives you a speech about when he shot something in an alley in miami and they didn't have the permits, so this cop came and made them stop, but the 1st ad kept pissing him off coz he kept shooting, and reb was trying to mediate and this cop was just getting so pissed. reb got the ad fired, and the next day at the alley, this truck driver wouldnt move, so reb called the cops to move him, since they now had permission. The one that showed up was the pissed cop. Reb started apologizing about the previous day and begging him to help and the cop stopped him and said, "They sent me here to help you guys. Don't worry. I'm your cop." Then reb ends the story, looks at you and says, "Guys. I'm your cop." Awesome.
Anyway he was at this party last night, standing over the keg. Didn't move the whole night, just stood at the keg talking to kale and kate. It was also will eng's 19th birthday, and he was getting all this wine and booze and reb was just like, awesome.
