Who do you ship Kida with in canon, if you do?

UH I have different definitions of shipping, but let me go through the pairings I generally enjoy seeing Kida in.

Mikado x Kida x Mikado: Healthy closer-than-brothers friendship! I don't quite ship them romantically (though I do not mind Kida showing Mikado how things down there work), but I mostly enjoy them as being ridiculously adorable BFFs who mean a lot to each other. Like, further than a romantic/sexual/whatever relationship. DOES THAT MAKES SENSE?

Kida x Saki: CANON RELATIONSHIP I LIKE I admit that it is not the HEALTHIEST relationship Kida could be in, but them together are really cute and I have FEELINGS on Saki that I should essay about later, but essentially she is able to fill in the gaps on Kida's former-Yellow-Scarf side that Mikado can't.

Izaya x Kida: IT IS SO UNHEALTHY AND IT'S MY GUILTY SHIP but the way Izaya mindfucks with Kida is something I enjoy in all its horribleness. It has to be the mindfuck-hate relationship though; any 'wai wai izaya-san aishiteru' stuff coming from Kida in fic/doujin/pics/etc makes me

O KIDA-KUN. That all made perfect sense to me (well minus Shizuo and Kida's relationship because I am an awful castmate and still haven't read any of the novels).

Also I didn't realize that Izaya and Mikado had kissed later down in that thread...SO THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME READ IT AGAIN :DD????

Shizuo and Kida is mostly a stretch but interaction-wise it is shaping up to be pretty adorable.

Also I realize I forgot to ask you questions back; how is Shizuo adjusting to life in camp/being away from Celty+Tom+Kasuka+etc?

Dotachin hands down. Both because I personally love Dotachin and also because he's the one guy from canon that Kida can sanely talk about serious things that bother him, ie, the closest thing to a helpful adult figure Kida has who knows about his personal past. Itachi is getting there in terms of trust/honesty level, but Kida would hate to have to explain to Itachi how the whole Yellow Scarves thing went down so it likely won't come up unless STRANGE CIRCUMSTANCES went down, etc.

Do you plan to read the novel translations?

Shizuo gets a lot of things happening for him in the novels READ LIKE THE WIND.

Uhhh, there's an app I am toying with at the moment in a 'should I app this character hrmm' way, but no one I must have right now. I'm feeling out having 3 characters for the time being to see how it goes, since my playing levels aren't what they used to be.

What would be your characters' impressions of each other if they met/have met already?

Kida and Cooro would get along well! Dumb boys doing dumb things, get. They'd both have a generally positive impression of each other and of Satou, mostly when they figure out he could feed them. Satou would, in turn, would think they're alright, if a little hyperactive, and would get stuck in the big-brother position if left around them for too long. Overall, they'd all get along.

Which DRRR character not in camp right now would you want most to be apped next?

UHH okay sometimes it's Kasuka because AHHH KASUKA my toppy lil brother ;o;. And sometimes it's Simon because Simon in camp would be the BEST FUCKING THING EVER oh my god. I FUCKING LOVE SIMON!!!

FAVORITE SCENE IN THE DURARARA ANIME.

Kida facing down his own gang, hands down. I LOVED that scene and had been waiting for it since I found out it happened in the novels and it just does not disappoint me in how badass Kida can be when it comes down to it. It also shows how much Mikado means to him and how he's changed from the whole thing with Saki and ahhhh I love it!
