Dear Students,
By way of introduction, my name is Selena Soo, Director of Campus Relations for THE U.
THE U (www.theU.com) is a student-focused media company officially launched in 2005 by undergraduates at Columbia University. We count major corporations like The WB television network, US NEWS & World Report, a major consumer bank and others as partners and sponsors.
Recently, we announced the launch of a student discount card at 500 schools nationwide. It's a very simple program - students are entitled to discounts based on flashing their "U Card" at local bars, restaurants, copy shops, etc. These local discounts will be matched with larger national discounts from companies like DELL, Subway, and more, to deliver students an easy way to save tons of money.
We are interested in partnering with an individual or campus club to recruit 20 popular local merchants to participate in the discount card program. In exchange for recruiting merchants, we are paying $500 upfront and up to $10 for every card distributed on your campus. We expect to distribute a minimum of 300 cards per campus, which totals to $3000 in royalties.
We are looking to begin merchant recruitment ASAP. If you or your group is interested in this opportunity, please get in touch with us by email. We would like to work with a student who will be on or near campus for part of the summer. We will be selecting a rep or a group to work with us within the next two weeks.
