Plenty of people go into RP with some general ideas about their character in their head; what they expect they'll see from their character, habits, behaviors, feelings etc. Of course, that doesn't always follow through, or previous viewpoints might get debunked as you play over time

He loves Dostoevsky. He is actually someone impressionable. He can't STAND most music because of his absolute perfect pitch: only Mussorgsky, Kreisler, and Beethoven, when he's feeling wild, with a sprinkling of Mendelssohn. Depending on the setting, he's a hopeful Nihilist or a naive pessimist. He is mathematically minded and thinks in prime numbers. He focuses on details. "You Are My Sunshine" is his favorite song because he remembers it from a long time ago. One of his greatest fears is being buried alive. He hates mirrors, sandpaper, and being touched. He's annoyed by people who have the same qualities he does. He is a list-maker. He writes poetry and doesn't let anyone read it. He takes things literally to the point where he is often confused. Sexuality makes him uneasy. If he does become romantically involved with someoen, his relationships with men are competetive and intense, but if he falls for a woman he falls hard and never looks at another for the rest of his life. The name his mother gave him is "Luke."
