Title: Know Part One

There he sat, one of Phoenix's finest, trying to drink himself into an oblivion just to forget her. The man who sat beside him seemed to be on a similar quest.
"My wife and I divorced four years ago," The man, Howard, drunkenly slurred. 'But, you know, I still love her,"
"Yeah?" Lee sipped his beer, wanting nothing more than for Howard to stop talking and let him wallow in self pity alone.
"Who are you trying to forget, friend?" Lee bit his tongue to keep himself from lashing out at the innocent question.
"No one," He ground out.
"What's he name?" Howard kept at it despite Lee's dismissal. Lee sighed in resignation and ordered another beer.
"Allison,"
"Pretty name,"
"Yeah, she is," Lee didn't notice his faux pas until it was too late.
"Why are you setting out and trying to destroy your liver for this gal?"
"Because we work together, not to mention she's married with a happy, perfect family," Lee snapped bitterly. He had always prided himself with the fact that he had plenty of common sense until he fell for a woman who is unavailable in every sense.
"That blows man. At least I was able to create some sort of memories with Dori," Howard's eyes glistened at these memories.
"Sometimes I have to wonder if..." Lee broke off, not wanting to bring up the cliche of loving and losing and never loving at all.
"Go tell her ," Howard exclaimed suddenly, thumping the bar with his fist. Lee glared at him for bringing the whole bar into their conversation.
"No I don't think so," Howard waved the bartender over and ordered several bourbon shots.
"You'll feel better,"
"She'll hate me," Howard shoved two shots in his direction.
"Do you really care, as long as she knows?" Lee glanced at the alcohol, at his new 'buddy', then back at the innocent shots.
"Aw Hell," He muttered before slamming back pure liquid courage.
