[10Spot] 005 - Ten Things I Learned as a Child

Jul 12, 2007 19:43

01. Learning everything the second time is a lot easier when you know the right answers.

02. Just because you know all the right answers doesn't mean you aren't going to make mistakes, and you aren't going to get in trouble less than you did before.

03. Mom is right. Not only is she right, but she's always going to make sure that you know she's right, and often.

04. Being an only child isn't everything movies and television make it out to seem. I never got a pony.

05. Just because you think like you're forty seven doesn't mean your teacher in grade school is going to be too accepting of you hitting on her when you're just seven.

06. Sitting in the back row of the class just gets you picked on more by the teachers.

07. Sitting in the front row of the class means you need glasses.

08. Finding a stray cat and taking the neighbors cat aren't the same thing. Generally the neighbor finds out. Or takes out an ad in the paper which your mom answers.

09. Learning ahead of the class puts you in gifted programs. Which is fine, if you want to actually have to do work and learn more, but if you are looking to coast through the second childhood thing, I suggest doing what is expected of you and nothing more.

10. Being little is rough. Being little more than once in your existence doesn't get any easier.
