David Lynch (Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, Dune) is coming to speak at Emerson on October 1 at 7:30, in the huge Cutler Majestic Theatre. I can get 2 tix free with my Emerson ID, and I'm going to line up early on Wednesday morning to get 'em.
I am actually scheduled to work on the Cape that day and the next day - L and had planned on spending that weekend on the Cape. I'll see if I can get out of working on Saturday. If I can't, does someone want to go? L, of course, gets first dibs if she wants a ticket...
"Lynch will speak on the creative process in film making and how his 30-year practice of Transcendental Meditation has fostered his creativity and innovation. He will also discuss the establishment of the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace-a national nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the stress-reducing, creativity-enhancing benefits of Transcendental Meditation to students. Also speaking are quantum physicist Dr. John Hagelin, recently featured in the hit film “What the Bleep Do We Know?” and neuroscientist Dr. Fred Travis, director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management."
