I just read Kissing Sherlock Holmes and agree with you on the review. I really wanted to like this and was expecting it to be at least as good as the (free) H/W fan fics I've read, but, sadly, every one of your criticisms is valid. I ended up skimming the ending because I wasn't even that interested in how everyone ended up.

I am really, really bitter about it. Still.

There is just so, so, so much free fanfic out there that's better. It gets my goat that someone is getting paid for this.

I don't know if it will make you feel any better, but a bit of Googling will get one a free PDF download... ;)

I got it free but it wasn't even worth the time I spent until I got fed up with it, to be brutally honest. One of the few times I have felt justified in saying "I've not only read better H/W slash, I've written better H/W slash."

Kate lear has published some of her ACD fic. Much better.

I really think it was one of the worst fanfics I've ever read, and I paid for it, which I resent. Of course you've written much, much finer H/W. You're one of the best H/W authors out there, which these clowns cannot claim ever.

Thank you,m'dear!

Commiserations of the hard-earned cash front. What did you think of "A Study in Lavender"? I thought much better written on the whole, although there were some clunkers on the Brit-picking front, including one which undermined the entire plot of a story, oops.

How did I never get this comment?

I actually haven't read Lavender yet. At the time I wrote this review and the one for My Dearest Holmes, I had become really burnt out on these stories. I'm not sure I'll ever get to it. Good to hear it's better than this travesty.
