Hi guys, this is my first post here. :)
So, I want to make this recipe that calls for 3 lbs of chicken and you need to cook it in a 5- to 6-quart crockpot.
My first problem with this is that I only have a 4-quart crockpot. If I half the recipe, do I have to do anything special to the cooking time and/or ingredients?
My second question is about the chicken I'm planning to use. It's frozen, but it says "Cook From Frozen" on the package. I've read conflicting reports on whether or not it's okay to use frozen meat in there. Is there anything that's different about this "Cook From Frozen" chicken or can I thaw it and use regularly? The recipe doesn't specify whether or not to use frozen or unfrozen. I'm using drumsticks, if that makes any difference.
I did a few Google searches for these things and haven't come up with much for the first question and, like I said, contradictory information for the second.
Sorry if these are silly questions. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Thank you all for the advice! I ended up just thawing the chicken and halving the recipe with the same cook time, and like
slave_stasha said, I probably could've just thrown the whole recipe in there, but it turned out great anyway. Thanks again, guys!
