I'm working on getting my Christmas shopping in, and one of the things I want to get is a new crockpot for my Mom. She's long had a big one (I think it is this ), but she doesn't use it very much. She has two complaints

I have Hamilton Beach 3 in 1 Slow Cooker and it's amazing. Most of the time I'm cooking for 2, and so the fact that you can change the size of the pot you're using to fit your needs. So far we've never had anything come out less than awesome, and I swear by it! Hope this helps!

TheEngineer and i (after i managed to drop the crock to his crockpot) argued over just this fact in the appliance asile. it SOUNDS really practical, but i could see me calling him crying because the stupid thing had kicked my rear and i was not able to work it. (we got one with a manual knob).
Aww. I used to do that with the VCR, trying to tape shows, except that I just went and cried to the cat. And I did it far, far too often, even before The Complicated Machine that replaced the old VCR my parents had all through my childhood.
Yeah, that sounds like the kind of thing I'd get trapped in. My cell phone has taken to making loud noises to announce text messages, which are mostly advertising from the carrier. No idea why, or what I changed, or how.
Best mis-set alarm story in my family is as recent as the last daylight savings change, when everyone got up extra early to work on a party, and half the guests arrived. Then we realized that the reason no one else was there... was that it was all an hour early. There was some thought in the direction of pitching all the clocks out the window and going back to bed, but cat allergies prevented our guests from doing so, so we all stayed up and drank a lot of tea.
