Courtesy of Kraft Canada's What's Cooking magazine, I offer these solutions for too much:

  • Salt - the potato is a kitchen myth - add sugar or maple syrup.
  • Sweet - add lemon or vinegar - or in the case of a savoury dish, use a dash of cayenne.
  • Spicy - add a little fat, like butter, or something sweet, like peanut butter or honey.

EDIT: *grin* I stand corrected on these tips...as I had never tried them, I assumed the folks at Kraft knew from whence they spoke, and thought I'd hand them along!
