Someone posted not that long ago about a tuna recipe in a slow cooker, and she couldn't find one. I bought "Fix-It and Forget-It Lightly" and found some tuna recipes. I haven't tried them, so I don't know how they are.


Tuna Noodle Casserole
2 cups nonfat powdered milk
4 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. onion flakes
4 Tbsp. low-sodium chicken bouillon granules
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1 Tbsp. dried parsley
1/4 tsp. black pepper
4 cups cold water
2 6-oz. cans water-packed tuna, drained
4-oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained
6-oz. can slicked water chestnuts, drianed
16-oz. pkg. frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
8 oz. pkg. wide noodles, cooked al dente and drained
1/2 cup toasted almonds

1. Mix powdered milk, cornstarch, onion flakes, bouillon, dried herbs, and pepper in a large saucepan.
2. Add water. Cook over medium heat until thickened.
3. Add tuna, mushrooms, water chestnuts, vegetables, and noodles. Pour into slow cooker sprayed with non-fat cooking spray.
4. Sprinkle with almonds over casserole.
5. Cover. Cook on low for 3-4 hours.

This has 470 calories and 6g of fat. In case anyone wants to know. :P

Simple Tuna Delight
1 3/4 cups frozen vegetables
12 oz. can water-packed tuna, drained
10 3/4 can low-sodium condensed cream of chicken or celery soup

1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
2. Cover. Cook on high 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
3. Serve over hot cooked rice or noodles.

290 cals. 7 g. fat

Tuna Casserole

2 6 oz. cans tuna, water-packed, rinsed and drained
1 1/2 cups cooked macaroni
1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
1/4 cup green bell peppers, finely chopped
4-oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained
10 oz. pkg. frozen califlower, partially thawed
1/2 cup. low sodium, fat-free chicken broth

1. combine all ingredients in slow cooker, stir well.
2. cover, cook on low 4-6 hours, or high 2-3 hours.

210 cals. 2.5 g. fat
