Smallest daughter is doing great post-op. Thought I'd add an addendum to
plumbean's journal, since it ends rather abruptly.
Alas, D got sick after coming home from the recovery room (GI bug). So I spent not one, but 2 nights at the hospital. I did, however, get home for 8 hours yesterday due to the extraordinary kindness of numerous friends, as well as my in-laws and parents.
Thankfully, D is feeling better today and staying with baby. I came home, napped, and am going to pick up the big kiddos at their after-school program and take them to dinner at
mayica's.
Baby is smily, cheery, not seeming to be in any pain at this point, getting only Tylenol. She no longer needs fluids by IV since she's breast- and bottle-feeding so well. The surgeon says he plans to pull out the tube in her ureter/kidney tomorrow (if she continues to put out good amounts of urine), so the urine can reroute through the bladder. If that works OK, he'll pull out the tube in the bladder the following day, and if that last bit of plumbing (bladder to outside world) works OK too, she can go home either Sun. or Mon.
Not sure it will go quite as smoothly as all that, but I'm still _very_ pleased and relieved.
