Key Verses:
And he showed me a pure river of Water of Life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of its street, and of the river, from here and from there, was the Tree of Life, which bore twelve fruits, each yielding its fruit according to one month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And every curse will no longer be; but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His servants will serve Him. And they will see His face, and His name will be in their foreheads. And there will be no night there. And they need no lamp, or light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light. And they will reign forever and ever.
(Revelation 22:1-5)
Sometimes I find it hard to imagine a world without pain, suffering, or loss. Currently we are all surrounded by financial hardship, sickness, treachery, and other sources of pain. The world seems to be coming apart at the seams with wars, famine, disease, and natural disasters. In the midst of all this chaos we do have this promise from God, that He will restore this world we live in to the state it was meant to be in; one of peace and free of the pain and suffering of sin. In Revelation we are given a picture of a world where there is no more sin, there is no pain, where every tear will be dried. As followers of Christ we will someday see this world and that should give us hope. No matter how bad things may get we can always remember that a new day is coming, that this world will be sane again, and that Christ shall reign over it forever and ever.
