God the Great Equipper

Key Verse:

"But the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, for they are not willing to listen to me: because all the house of Israel have a hard forehead and a stubborn heart. Behold, I have made your face as hard as their faces, and your forehead as hard as their foreheads. Like emery harder than flint have I made your forehead. Fear them not, nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house."

Ezekiel 3:7-9

I was in a book study called "Wild at Heart" by John Eldridge and the question was asked "What would I do if I could do anything for God? Don't ask how you would do it, just what would you do." The next question was "So what is stopping you?" I thought about that for a good while and what came to mind was how I was feeling lead to be more involved in the FFC and help bring it to Anthrocon. I wasn't sure how I could get the FFC there, let alone myself as I was dead broke. I decided "Ok God, if this is what you want then I'll go for it and you provide the how." I was suprised when people from my church took care of what it would take to get me to AC. He also gave me the strength to resist the temptations that would hit me at the convention as well, which was another concern of mine. Ezekiel was being asked by God to take a message to the Israelites that had been taken captive by the Babylonians and were not open to hearing anything from God. He was going to be preaching to a hostile audience, which can be a rather daunting task. He may have wondered how he would be able to do this. Like Ezekiel we feel like we are facing insurmountable odds or hostile crowds and wonder how we will rise to the task God has given us. We need to remember that God will not call us to anything unless He is going to give us the skills, assets, or words needed to accomplish His plan for us.
