I'll stop halfway through because my finals are coming too quickly OTL
Many fandoms coming, though the rating is still G (maybe PG-13ish for the Drr!! one ?), and, as usual, I don't own a thing.
Day 1 - FMA
Roy wasn't really there for the whole evening yet Chris won't press him - she knows how war affects people. She waits until Madeline walks the last customer out to sit next to her too quickly grown boy.
"I will make it to the top," he declares after a moment of silence.
As Chris doesn't even pretend to be surprised, Roy shrugs.
"Is there anything you don't know about me?"
"Roy, I raised you. I make you believe I know everything for a while," she laughs in a attempt to hearten him a bit.
The ghost of a smile appears on his lips and Chris hides her relief - it's a modest victory, but a victory nevertheless.
Day 2 - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (spoilers)
When she caught herself thinking the Sacred Grove was actually pretty, Midna realized she needed to stop right away.
She had claimed she preferred the Twilight Realm, which was still true, so she told herself her growing appreciation of Hyrule and its inhabitants - especially one of them, even when not a wolf - was due to what Zelda had given her.
It had to be this, because she knew all of this would end sooner and more painfully than what her clueless partner was apparently thinking; and she had swore not to get emotionally involved.
Once again, Midna locked her heart away.
Day 3 - Bleach (spoilers)
She learnt how to fight honestly and courteously from her brother, respecting her opponent. She tried to be compassionate every time - and not only because she believed it was their main duty - even though some Kuchikis snorted whenever the word was pronounced. She always did her best; trying to be worthy of her teachers and the people she fought along with.
Yet this time it doesn't seem to be enough - this Riruka girl was smart enough not to warn her of her next move and Rukia knows she lost.
And she realizes that she maybe lost since the very beginning.
Day 4 - Downton Abbey (pre-series)
The Earl and Countess are attending a charity ball with the girls and Lady Violet - Downton is the servants' now, which is a relief because the dinner planned tonight is huge. A mastered effervescence prevails in the manor but everyone knows his role, even Anna who arrived just a week ago, already tidying Lady Mary's room.
Her mistress seems flawless on the outside, so the crumpled dresses left in hurry on the bed make Anna smile. Lady Mary is still young, she thinks, but so is she and she catches herself in front of the mirror, holding a dress to see if she would fit in it. Anna quickly pulls herself together - she knows her place.
Day 5 - Professor Layton (Diabolical Box-verse)
The other girls in Lady Edith's class are really nice, and Flora loves her teacher's methods, but she would not miss her tea-break at Layton's messy office for the world - every time she's asked where she's going each afternoon, she answers she goes to the library, which is more or less true.
Today is not as usual, though - the pair seem preoccupied but Luke won't tell why and Flora doesn't dare to ask the Professor. But she has learnt now and, spotting a weird train ticket, she swears this time they won't let her out of the case.
Day 6 - Bleach (spoilers)
Ichigo was now used to Soul Society quick round-trips - come without warning, save the day, go back even when bleeding to death.
"Thank you all" he told Renji as the others captain had already left, having "more important things to take care of", as Byakuya claimed.
"Thank them yourself next time you're coming" Renji smiled. The Senkaimon closing, he waved at them and followed his captain.
She was still there.
"You're not leaving?"
"I was assigned to check on your recovery," Rukia explained. Your choice, affirmed her eyes.
"My closet is still tiny, you know ?" Why do you even ask ?
"I think I'll survive." Thank you.
Day 7 - Durarara!! (sets during episode 12)
You are an idiot.
Shinra smiled - this sounded like a return to normal. Celty shifted in a more comfortable position in the armchair they were sharing.
And you have weird friends.
"Which one ?," he innocently asked.
Izaya Orihara. He was pretending to ride a motorcycle, making noise and all. It was…
She paused.
But I'm not really qualified to judge people on their "normality".
'You're probably the sanest person in the district, you know ?"
Celty let it go for now - she had enough thought about her identity for the night… and he had muttered his answer in that weak spot in her neck that made want an utterly different kind of discussion.
Day 8 - Trigun (pre-series)
Bernardelli insurances were far from being her dream job, but Meryl knew she was lucky she had one - so she kept her regrets to herself and endlessly filled her files. She had travelled before being hired, obviously not enough to explore the whole planet as she had intended, however enough to want more. She had learnt how to fight, how to protect, but Derringer Meryl was no use to Bernardelli and she had put away both her traveling clothes and her hopes.
One day, she swore to her paperwork. One day she'll be essential and they'll give her assignments to the other side of the world. One day she'll be out of this dreary life and feel whole again.
Day 9 - FMA
He has of course heard about Lieutenant-Colonel Mustang, but Breda guesses the man's reputation is probably far from the truth.
When said "war hero" seats at his table and casually takes the black pieces, Heymans knows he was right, Mustang even being utterly in control of what he lets people think. He's also a pretender, he realizes, just like he was in the Academy when he surprised everyone when he graduated, just like he still is when he convinces his colleagues he's a mediocre chess player.
"What you want ?", he asks, eventually adding a "Sir" when he opens with his queen's pawn.
"I need help in overthrowing the king, but the game I'm currently playing in my office is quite… blurry."
"Let's see what I can do."
Day 10 - FMA
No alchemy while they move in, they agreed, because the apartment will be their as individuals, not as (former) Colonel and Lieutenant.
Only the two of us were supposed to take care of this - they even planned a few days off - but on the first morning they find everyone waiting for them, from Havoc to Madeline, including Rebecca, Armstrong and Maria.
Roy misses only one person in the impromptu lunch they manage with their last supplies - but a possible talk about it will wait for the night; for now, he puts every edible thing in bowls, including those biscuits he had never seen before.
"Those are Hayate's", states Riza.
"Oh. Thank you - I'm glad you're here."
"Me too," she smiles, before giving the bowl to Hayate, probably the one who will enjoy the most living with Roy.
Day 11 - Doctor Who
Back when they were in highschool, he had found that silly book in the self-confidence shelf of the library (from where he was checking on Amy and that guy who asked her to "help with his homework" - like he actually cared about school !). Reading this, you were supposed to know how to behave like a "proper brave man", and Rory had put away the dumb manual.
Now they're back looking for informations on "Mels" and he can't help but find the book again, thinking about brooms and vampires and antibodies and Leadworth and Rio. He smiles, and opens the front page to write that the first rule is not trying to be one.
The librarian eventually catches him and Rory runs for his life.
Day 12 - FMA (sets during episode 64)
"You are supposed to rest."
"You too, and that's why I'm not asking you to come with me. And I really need to get out of here, even for five minutes."
His sight is still a bit blurry but Roy is sure she's rolling her eyes.
"Do you even know the way to the exit doors ?"
"My plan involved some improvisation."
She sighs and softly takes his still bandaged hand to guide him through the corridors.
"I feel like I'm fifteen years old again," she eventually says.
"Are you blaming me for now or then?"
"How can I blame you for things I did on my own?"
His hold on her hand slightly tightens.
Day 13 - Downton Abbey (post series-two)
The library - and to a certain extend Downton itself - has never been that quiet. The echoes of those days when they housed patients from the hospital are long gone now. Sybil has gone, Mary only speaks when she's asked to, Matthew is the ghost of the man he used to be - even Cora and Edith stopped pretending everything was fine.
What went wrong ? muses Robert, somehow still hearing the rhythmic sound of table tennis - sound I'll never admit he missed - mixed with the joyful laughters of a boy who had supposed to be born.
He cannot guess what went wrong nor why it did, but he knows when they missed the path.
Day 14 - Doctor Who / H2G2
None of them knew how it happened, but their ships had collided and there they were, on a wild planet, playing with the idea of asking which insurance would pay when they both had none.
"The Heart of Gold uses the Infinite Improbability Drive. It will take months to get it repaired !" complained Zaphod.
"Mine travels through time and space," glared the Doctor.
Amy and Trillian both rolled their eyes. Males.
"Where did you get it?", asked the Galatic President, quite interested.
"You first."
"I stole it."
"So I did," grinned the Doctor.
They decided not to spread the incident.
Day 15 - Young Justice (first episodes)
"Fine, you know all of the Cave, but what about the outside ?" asked Wally.
M'gann's smile disappeared.
"Did I forgot about emergency exits ?"
"No, I talked about the living world," he said with grandiloquence. "I mean, you and Superboy don't really know how things work in real life so I think you need a teacher."
"Don't include me in this plan", warned the boy.
Wally was about to triumph as everything went as planned but Robin had already found them theater seats for the evening and Aqualad was convincing their partner to join them in another team bonding. Yet M'gann was cheering again, so Wally guessed he could not complain.
