Fic - four drabbles to celebrate !

Jun 11, 2011 20:45

Fandom: FullMetal Alchemist
Series: manga / Brotherhood
Rating: G
Characters: Roy Mustang, Riza Hawkeye, mention of others
Note: Old drabbles are old, but it was time to bring them to surface and Royai Day was the perfect moment. The second and third ones are mentioning events from FMA:B episodes 16 and 17 !
Note 2: This year theme was "What I love about Roy/Riza", so I guess I'll just express my love for them constantly pretending on various levels, depending which people are around.

Nocturne
Roy vaguely remembered, in the cloudy memories that were now his childhood, that he had always succeeded in getting secretly back his confiscated toys, when his parents were sure he was sleeping.
At the time he lived with Chris, he often climbed the rooftop of the house to read in the moonlight, to escape the agitation that came at the bar as soon as the sun was set.
However, in the silence that always ruled in the manor, the greatest of his night explorer life was to know exactly which board of the floor he had to avoid, and to be able to get to the bedroom of a certain pretty blonde without making any noise.

Boundary
"Was it a daydream or was the Fullmetal's comment actually relevant?"
She frowned but Roy waited for the elevator doors to close before quoting Edward:
" "If you're here, that means the colonel must not be far". If even he noticed the fact that we are… Well… Maybe we should be more discreet when we're together."
Riza smiled weakly/slightly - she would have loved to go like this forever but eventually reality always win, and they knew the rules, so…
"Alright, colonel, but for a start I suggest you remove your hand from my buttocks."

Pretence
Envy was not the only one to deduce that Mustang's popularity would collapse after the Ross case: the man in question knew perfectly it was an objective of the ones who were pulling the strings, and he had acted accordingly.
A few meetings in their self-called emergency office (an elevator deliberately stopped between two floors), doubtful glances, leave requests, and, as a perfect climax, Riza slamming the door loudly enough so everyone could hear: Central HQ was now convinced no one would follow the colonel anymore.
Left alone, Roy allowed himself a smile.
They absolutely loved to fool the world.

Lunch
A freshly engaged recruit would not notice them, busy looking for his roommates so he would not eat alone.
A common soldier would see two people higher ranked, making trite remarks, and would go back listening to a colleague's love stories.
An officer knowing them by reputation would just spot them sitting with the common run of soldiers, thinking they didn't have important talk despite the dissolution of their unit.
A general would not even see then, because he would be eating in a separate room.
As a result, nobody would guess they were playing footsie under the table.
