Carnivale

The party got dysfunctional. It started with a sending exchange on the forum, hidden below.

“So you’re the little bastage who attacked my tower. Before I turn you into cheese for your rat, why did you? What did you want?”

I want my wife.

Wife? What wife? No one here is married. I'm not even married, nor is the one who warms my bed. What are you talking about?

You took Indis, and then you lied about it. I sought information, you refused to give it, I elected to take it, and your servants elected to resist.

You're supposed to be a wizard, boy. Twenty five words or less.

You're supposed to be powerful. How are your apprentices feeling?

Quite well. The only words I exchanged with you or your companions invovled turning them into rabbits. Did you want to deal for the elf?

The elf that you never had? Or are you admitting to lying?

Should I take that as a “No”? You care not what happens to Indis?

So you have met her.

You are wasting my time and killing her. It will be expensive to find another elf female for the experiment, but attacks are disruptive.

Some might even say the attacks are deadly. Release her to me and I promise they won't be.

At that point, Zoltan broke off negotiations. Madame Eva appeared in John's cabin with a tarokka reading. John told Squeakers to go hog wild in trying to get rid of Borhg. Squeakers planted a locket and hair from the captain's daughter in John's cabin. Ingrid managed to search first, and found them. John continued trying to get Borhg thrown overboard. He managed to get Borhg arrested and confined...then Squeakers brought a rat swarm. Borhg found his door locked from the outside.

Upon arrival at port, they found themselves in Dirgenwall, the estates of Viscount Redthorne... in the home brew domain of Paunthyr. They nearly dissolved over the actions of Borhg in Souragne and John's subsequent actions... a lot of recriminations over Borhg's attack and Ingrid and Emma's indifference. John went to meet with the Mistress of the Carnival, and the rest tagged along. John's attempts to meet with her were initially stonewalled by the troupers, who called him George. They had a long conversation, resulting in the PCs tracking down a missing member of the Carnival. When they did, Isolde gave Emma a sending scroll.

Zoltan gave his list of demands:

--a set of a mummy’s canopic jars from Har’Akir
--a gris gris from Souragne
--a living figurine from Sri Raji

--a crocodile from the Wildlands
--an altar cloth from Nidala
--a feather from the wings of Diambel of Pharazia

--a leopard’s skin from Paunthyr
--a skull drinking cup from G’henna
--a wolf cub from Vorostokov
--a tea service from Rokushima Tayoo

--a knife from Paridon
--a tin pot from Farelle

So, now, where do they go?
