Another A/N: they’re all the same age. I had to put them in the same year and all... Also, just about every line is dialogue. It’s more of a script :P
I use to walk slower and slower to the bus stop as the days went by, although this day was different. I swiftly jogged to the bus stop only to find that my new neighbour wasn’t there yet. Letting out a huge sigh which attracted attention from a lot of people at the stop, I leaned against the sign and looked moodily around me. I was highly not amused.
“Hey.” I heard a small voice whisper into my ear. I turned around instinctively to see who it was only find a headless man. (Well, he wasn’t really headless. He just had his hood up which basically covered his whole face.)
“HELP!” I shouted as I slapped the man over and over wherever my hands took me. He grabbed my wrists gently before shrugging off his hood.
“It’s just me.” He said while smirking at me and my face burned with embarrassment.
“Oh...Uh...Sorry.” I looked down at the ground as he let go of my wrists. So he was here already.
“Are you alright?”
“Yes, I’m fine. Thank you for asking.” I murmured while still looking at the ground. All that chewing gum is disgusting.
“Very well then.”
“Who are you?” I asked before realising I now sounded like the person being stalked.
“Excuse me?”
“What’s your name?” I rephrased. I had seen this guy everywhere and still failed to catch on to his name.
“I’m Donghae. What is your name?”
“Hyukjae. But all my friends call me Eunhyuk.”
“Hello, Eunhyuk.” He held out his hand to shake mine and I reluctantly placed my hands in his gentle grasp. He shook my hand carefully and I enthusiastically smiled at him. He quickly dropped my hand abruptly and looked around.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Oh, okay.” I said. Why would he drop my hand so quickly then?
The bus drove loudly down the road and we both got on, with me wishing we were still hand in hand.
“What’s CRACKING EUNHYUK?!” I heard my friend Shindong call out as I walked into registration class. He stood up and grabbed my hand before pulling me to his chest and hugging me strongly.
“Nothing really, Shindong. I just got in. Clearly.” I said, pushing him off me. “Hey guys.” I said while walking over to the table, with Shindong, that my friends were sitting at.
“Hey, Eunhyuk.” Sungmin smiled sweetly and I returned the smile. (Sungmin is my best friend, as well as Leeteuk, who is our group ‘leader’.)
“Hi Kibum.” I said and only got an arrogant nod instead of a hello before Kibum turned his head back to his novel.
“Hey, Hyukkie. How are you?” Hankyung, the only Chinese person in our school, asked.
“Hey. I’m okay.” I said, not really being okay but only answering so he wouldn’t ask questions.
“GameKyu, stay up late last night?” I laughed as I poked his sleeping head which was on the desk. I heard a muffled ‘shh’ and giggled.
“You need to stop playing games.”
“Well, I would stop playing games if something better came into my life.” He said but the sound was muffled again. I looked over at Sungmin who faintly smiled at this.
“What?” I said, urging more for information.
“Go away.” Kyuhyun said this time, removing one of the hands he was laying on to slap me away. I sat down next to Sungmin and patted his back sweetly.
“So what did you do last night?” Eeteuk asked me, moving from next to Kyuhyun to the seat next to mine.
“I was just unpacking and stuff. Same old.” I said, noticing that all I seemed to be doing nowadays was either packing or unpacking.
“Do you like your new house?”
“It’s alright.” I said, not really caring about the house. All I cared about was next door.
“How is your mother?” Leeteuk asked.
“She’s great?” How is my mother? What are you, forty?
“Tell her I was asking for her.” I only nodded before turning to Sungmin.
“Guess what?” I said quietly, not wanting the whole gang to hear.
“What?”
“He lives right next door.”
“Who?”
“HIM.” I whispered, my eyes getting wider.
“OH! He lives next door?”
“Yeah!”
“Right next door?” Sungmin repeated.
“Um, yeah.”
“Like, the house right next to yours?”
“Well, that’s next door isn’t it?” I snapped before feeling a ting of déjà vu.
“Christ. How the hell did that happen?” Sungmin wondered, shaking his head in disbelief. “You are one lucky bitch. He is hot as hell.” I nodded my head in agreement while I heard the classroom door slam.
“Hi Kangin.” We all said in unison, not even looking up to see if it was Kangin or not. We all already knew because it was his daily thing.
“I’m going to kill my dad. Who does he think he is? He thinks I’m not doing enough in school. HE THINKS I’M NOT DOING ENOUGH IN SCHOOL, GUYS.” He said while pulling up a chair and joining the table. Leeteuk moved from being next to me to go sit on his lap. He seemed to moving about a lot today.
“He only cares for you Kangin.” Leeteuk said while kissing his cheek.
“Well, I don’t want him to care. He can go rot in fucking hell.”
“Kangin, don’t say that about your father. The man raised you.” Said Kibum, still not looking up from his book. I looked at him confused. Has he been listening the whole time? The classroom door opened again and the teacher walked in silently, carefully placing her books on her desk at the front of the room, and we all separated from the table and went back to our own desks.
“Good morning, class 3-D. How are you all?” She asked, not awaiting our answer before kicking off to take the register.
Lunch was the same as always: same food; same table; same friends; same life. I sat down with my tray next to Leeteuk, who was engaging in conversation with Kangin, talking about how Kangin’s father was probably having an affair.
“But, he is out every night and doesn’t come back until, like, 10 o’clock or something.”
“Kangin, the man does have a job.”
“Did you not hear me? He comes back at 10 O’CLOCK AT NIGHT. No job has that type of hours.”
“Of course they do, you fool. I mean, look at CSI. Most of their jobs are done at night.” Kibum added.
“CSI? That doesn’t count, Kibum. It’s a show.” Shindong said.
“Of course it counts. It’s based on a CSI’s real job, isn’t it?” Hankyung said.
“Exactly!” Kangin said before realising he was agreeing with Hankyung and Kibum. “I meant it doesn’t count. It’s a show.”
Leeteuk only shook his head at the psycho babble before turning to me.
“Where is your friend?”
“What friend?” I asked, confused.
“You know, your ‘neighbour’.” How did he know? I only told Sungmin.
“How do you know about my neighbour?” I voiced my thoughts.
“I know all, Hyukkie, I know all.” I gave him a weird look before I turned to Sungmin who had just sat down next to me at the table.
“Did you tell Teukie about Donghae?”
“Who’s Donghae?”
“HIM.” I said, my eyes getting wider once again. It seemed to be the code for Donghae.
“OH! Um, yeah I told him in math. I couldn’t deal with the teacher. She pisses me off; I mean why do we need to know how to do algebra. When do we ever use that in everyday life?”
“MINNIE! Why did you tell him? I didn’t want him to know!”
“He was bound to find out anyway,” Sungmin took a bite if his rice, “I’m,” *chew*, “sure,” *chew chew*, “that man,” *chew*, “has spies.” He said before swallowing loudly. My God, could he have not have waited until he had swallowed?
“I know, what is with that, by the way?” Shindong joined in on the conversation. We clearly were not being quiet enough.
“Shindong, go away, your not in this conversation.” Sungmin said, swatting his face away. Shindong’s scoffed at Sungmin’s behaviour before engaging back with the other conversation.
“Besides, why didn’t you want him to know? I thought you and him were close?” He said, quieter this time.
“We are, it’s just, I don’t know. I’m afraid he’ll say something! You know he has the biggest mouth here. No, that’s a lie, Kangin does.”
“Yeah, it’s criminal.” Sungmin nodded in agreement before a person we had only seen a couple times before came up to the table.
“Which one of you is Hankyung?” The person said. Wait, isn’t he....
“I am. Why?” Hankyung answered.
“Siwon wants to see you.” Heechul?
“Oh? I’ll be right back guys.” Hankyung said before stalking off with Heechul standing uncomfortably close to him.
“Who is Siwon?” Shindong asked, stuffing his face with Leeteuk’s leftovers.
“Shindong, stop it. You’re supposed to losing weight, not gaining it.” Leeteuk swatted his hand away from his food before answering his initial question: “He’s the director of the SC. (Student Council, in case you were wondering) I wonder what he wants with Hankyung.” Leeteuk thought out loud and all of us either nodded or said ‘yeah’ before a man whom I know as Ryeowook came to the table.
“Kyu, uh, Yesung needs to see you.” Kyuhyun looked at Ryeowook and smiled lightly before regaining his stone face.
“Ok.” He got up from the table and, leaving his food, left with Ryeowook.
“Why is everybody leaving?” I asked and Kangin nodded.
“I don’t know but I think we might follow suit.” Leeteuk said before grabbing Kangin and leaving the dinner hall.
“I guess it’s just us then. Kibum, you still with us?” Kibum vaguely nodded before putting his head down again.
“Kibum, are you okay?” Shindong asked, patting his shoulder.
“Yeah, I’m just really busy with schoolwork. Sorry, I’ve got to go.” He said before quickly standing up and jogging out.
“Okay, so it’s just us three then?” Sungmin said while laughing at the lack of people.
“Hey, can I sit with you guys?” A familiar voice said and I looked up to see who it was.
“Donghae?” I blinked, wondering why he has asking to sit with us when he had a group of friends.
“Hi.” He blushed. “Sorry, my friends have all left, with who I assume is your friends.”
“No worries. Take a seat.” Sungmin said and I was left to wonder what he was up to. I looked over to the table he normally sat at only to see it was now occupied with a bunch of what looked like girls, but couldn't be (seeing as we attended an all boys school) either putting on their make-up or fixing their hair in their small compact mirrors.
Silence filled the table and you could literally slice through the tension with a knife.
“So... What’s your name?” Shindong said, breaking the awkwardness.
“Lee Donghae. I think I know all your names,” he pointed at Shindong, “You’re Kangin?”
Shindong laughed at what he thought was a compliment before correcting him, “Shindong. Nice to meet you.”
“Oops. Sorry!” He said before looking at Sungmin. “And you’re... Leeteuk?”
“Sungmin.” Sungmin answered, not very happily. He clearly did not like the fact that somebody did not know his name.
“Sorry! I guess I didn’t know your guys’ names.” He laughed it off awkwardly before looking at me. “And I know for sure you’re Eunhyuk.”
I smiled sweetly at him as I my stomach did kick flips. He remembered my name!
“So what do you guys have next?” Donghae asked.
“Korean.” Sungmin simply said with a rude tone in his voice.
“I have English.”
“Aish! I’ve got P.E.” Shindong said before scowling. He hated P.E. The bell rang loud and clear and the dinner hall burst out, numerous people standing up all at the same time.
“I’ll see you guys later.” Donghae said before rushing out of the hall.
“What the hell is your problem?” I asked Sungmin as we walked out together.
“He didn’t remember my name.”
“Would you stop being so melodramatic? How was he supposed to know your name? He isn’t in your class!” I pointed out.
“Still. He should have remembered my name.” Sungmin said before disappearing into his next class which was, as stated before, Korean.
“Such a drama queen.” I muttered to myself while walking towards English.
“How do you know Donghae?” Shindong asked me as we walked out of the building. I glanced at the sea of people around us, making sure he wasn’t close by to hear me. Leeteuk, that is. He knew too much already.
“He’s my neighbour.”
“Didn’t you just move house though?” He asked, confused as to why I was referring him as my neighbour when I shouldn’t already know my neighbours by now. Bitch.
“Yes. He is my neighbour, as I just said.” I said, rolling my eyes. “You can be so dumb sometimes, Shindong.”
“YAH! Don’t talk to me that way. You’re younger than me; treat me with respect.”
“Respect, my ass. Half the time you treat Leeteuk and Hankyung like shit, so don’t give me all your crap about respect.” I said and Shindong could only agree with me. He nodded as we parted ways, both of us walking in opposite directions.
“HEY! EUNHYUK! YAH!” I vaguely heard Donghae’s voice shout from behind me.
“Hey.” He said as he ran up to me, his voice rasped from panting. “Are you going to the bus stop?”
“No. I have to teach a dance class.” I said, although this time I did actually have a dance class.
“Then don’t you need to get the bus? Since it’s out of town?” Ah, fuck. Okay, I am never lying again. Karma is clearly a bitch.
“It’s...It’s...uh...No, it’s actually close by so I can just walk.” I confessed my sins.
“But you said...”
“No I didn’t.”
“Yeah, you said...”
“No, I didn’t.” I said, cutting him off, letting him think that his ‘good memory’ was failing him.
“Oh I thought...”
“No.”
Silence suffocated us, threatening one of us to say something first.
“Well, where are you teaching? Because I have a dance class now as well. It might be the same one.” Donghae broke.
“D.S.” (Of course my dance school is cleverly named Dance School.)
“Oh wow! That’s where I’m going. Want to walk together?” He rejoiced.
“Yeah, sure.” I said before walking silently off into the distance with him.
So, it turned out I was actually teaching the class he was in. (Coincidence? I think not.)
“And rotate your hips as so.” I said, demonstrating a hip rotation. The people in the room shook their hips, each one going a different way. Most of the class was males, seeing as it was a breakdancing and popping class, but some of them were females.
“Teacher! Teacher! I can’t get it!” One of the younger girls said and I walked over to her smoothly avoiding the others. Donghae smirked at me as I passed him and I felt giddy watching his hips rotate smoothly, imagining them underneath me, thrusting. (Then I stopped because I realised I have to keep this PG-13.)
The girl explained to me what the problem was, which turned out to be that she simply was stiff. I placed my hands on her hips lightly before moving them, telling her to isolate her hips. Realising that it wasn’t working, I moved my hands to her shoulders and kicked her gently behind the knee so they bent a little.
“Now try it.” I said while keeping firm grip on her shoulders to stop them from moving. Her hips moved slowly and a tad bit choppy, but they still rotated. I let go of her shoulders and walked back to the front of the class, once again getting a smirk from Donghae as I dodged the dancers.
“Well, I think we’ve all warmed up enough. Now let’s get on to the good stuff.” I said, flipping on the song in which we were learning the dance to. ‘Sorry, Sorry’ by Super Junior. The bass filled the room and I bobbed my head to the melodic tune.
“5, 6, 7, 8.” I said to the beat before I watched the class start the first chorus. But, to be honest, I wasn’t watching the class. I was watching Donghae: watching Donghae swipe his hands together; watching Donghae flick his feet; watching Donghae hit his feet. Just all round watching Donghae. I was mesmerised by his ability to add his own flare to the dance, but then again, I already knew how good of a dancer he was due to the favourable amount of competitions I had watched him in at school.
The bridge kicked off and the class stopped as they didn’t know this part yet, but Donghae remained dancing. How does he know this? How does he know any of the dance? I thought he just joined?
“Donghae? DONGHAE?” I tried to catch his attention but he was too consumed in the dance. The whole class laughed as I walked over to him before snapping my fingers in his face.
“Yah!”
“What? What?” He said as he stopped in mid dance.
“How do you know all of this?”
“I liked the dance so I taught myself when the song came out.” Donghae stated, looking down at his shoes.
“Oh.” I said, feeling guilty for singling him out. Wait... “You can teach the dance with me!” I exclaimed with a bright smile on my face. This is perfect! Now he can be with me almost daily! Hyukjae, you truely are a fucking genius.
“What?”
“You can teach here with me. I’ll half my pay with you.” I said, knowing that I didn’t really need the money so it wasn’t a problem.
“Sorry, I can’t. I’ve got to go.” Donghae stuttered out before slamming the door as he ran out.
The whole class looked elsewhere but at me or the door, which basically told me what they were thinking. Although, this one punk ass kid insisted on glaring at me.
“What are you staring at?” I spat out before leaving the studio myself. I needed some air. And to find Donghae.
right guys; tell me what you think. i personally think this is a fail. i did it all today/last night so it probably fails. anyways, tell me what you think! hopefully the next chapters will be better? and funnier? who knows. life as we know it is a mystery *walks away backwards while waving arms around mygistically*
