Summary: Miranda really didn't sign up for this.

As a surgeon, there’s a certain grace about Miranda Bailey. She may be short (in height) and purposefully intimidating as a superior, yet there was a certain grace about her that makes her so unique. So… caring, and lovable, and just… different.

A lot of people loved that about Miranda. Sometimes, she just doesn’t know what to do about it.

When she got her set of interns, Miranda was prepared to not like them. They were children-idiots out of the med school box, all trigger happy to get their chance to hold a scalpel. She knew about that-she was once like that herself-and she was prepared, if not, a lot ready than any other resident on the floor. She was going to be the best.

She just didn’t expect to be so attached to this motley group of crazy interns.

When Cristina went to surgery for her ectopic pregnancy, Miranda stayed with her just as she was waking up in the recovery room. When Izzie cut Denny’s LVAD wire, it took so much from her to go to Meredith’s house and stop the girl from baking more muffins. When George’s father died, she sat with him afterwards, wanting to take away his pain. When Alex failed his medical boards, she thought of every way possible to help him pass. And when Meredith dies, she fought so hard-so damn hard to keep her heart beating, afraid that if she let go, she couldn’t stand the pain of losing someone she considered like a child.

This wasn’t what Miranda signed up for.

She had five mopey, whiney, incredibly stubborn interns-that she cared for far too much for her taste. She held a certain grace when she was around them and she’s happy (terribly so) for all this.
