Dowling is back...with a vengence...

Well, a lot has happened since I turned 20 years old (that was my last entry). Most importantly, I have selected a major, and that major would be Business Management. Never thought I would go that route, but it's far and away the best option for me right now...it never hurts to have a little business sense. I can always go back to school in a few years when I find out what it is I really want to do with my life, if I feel it's something I need to do. As of now I'm starting to get sick of college and spinning my wheels (I've been in a big rut ever since graduating high school) and I'm ready to get into the real world and make some money and actually live life a little bit. College has turned out not to be my thing thus far, hopefully these last two years will be better than the first two. Oh, on top of that, I'll be going to Columbus State for a year to get my core business courses out of the way (it's much cheaper than OSU, plus it'll be a nice change of scenery). I'm planning on going back to OSU after that to finish up and get my Bachelors, but we'll see what happens. Right now I'm just kinda taking this day to day. It's really nice to finally have a major, I'll say that much. And with a business degree, I might actually be able to do some good for some people...my mom wants to start an alternative health care practice in South Carolina, I could be of some help there. My friend Matt is in a band that will hopefully need a manager soon, I could do that too. And my other friend Tyler wants to start a record label, and he'll need some help there. Plus, I've always wanted to run my own personal business, but I don't know what'd it be. Maybe a shortline railroad, seeing as how I've gotten bigtime into model railroading recently (no wonder I can't get laid.) But who knows, we'll see.

Other than that, I've been hanging out with my friends more often than usual, which is always a good thing, it gets lonely out here in the boondocks. I've been playing Vampire with Alex and company, a good, wholesome RPG that involves a great deal of bloodshed. I've even been playing my character decent, which is a first. I went up to Detroit last weekend with my family and Matt to see the Yankees play the Tigers. The Yankees got beat, and I got pissed, and so did my dad. But we got over it, I guess life goes on and the Yankees do in fact have the best record in baseball, but it always sucks to watch them get beat.

Well, I should probably wrap this up, it's turned into more of a ramble than a journal entry.
